You talk quite well for someone who is dead.

I was deemed unfit for the military due to my ASD (Autism equates to an automatic exclusion), and such has always been my "dream job". One doesn't always get what they want in this world.

I'm really sorry, "Dead"- I'm not American either. I know that in some countries, autism isn't talked about much and families hide that sort of information. How did you find out that you are autistic- from the Internet?

It is wrong for people to treat you that way- all people should be treated with respect. Are you still in the army or did you have to leave because of the test? Do you have a family to care for you? I'm sorry that you feel you "live in Hell"- no one should have to feel that way. Remember, you have value as a human being no matter what your test scores are like.

Maybe the army is not the right place for you- perhaps your talents lie elsewhere. Jenny

Before i discovered that i am autistic i always thought that i am mentally retarted and i was always thinking: "are mr people so stupid??" because i dont feel stupid at all
call me crazy but i think a spirit from another world told me that i am autistic

to talk seriously the key aspect of me discovering that i am autistic is that i could use the computer since i was really young.I remember i went to computer classes(i was 10 years old)
and the teacher was impressed with the way i was using the pc.My father said to the teacher something about interests and the doctor...

I also remembered things from my childhood:(I used to do this thing with the car wheels,i have a photo of me lining up objects, visual staring of objects,i used to change interests every 1 year...all the symptoms)
Everybody says that i live in my "own world"(aren't autistics the ones who live in their own world???)
i lack eye contact,i suffer when others stare at me...
i stim,i listen to a part of song over and over again
someone from the military was asking me questions about astronomy...
another one was making fun of me by saying "You are as fat as an elephant"(i was supposed to take this literally)

It was not my choice to take this iq test...The governor of my military wanted to take it to see if i could handle a tank...i remember for two days i was being guard-free(i slept 7-8 hours) and for the third day
they sent me home.I slept only 4 hours home(and one 1 the bus)...But you can't recoup many hours of sleep loss with just two days of sleeping 8 hours...When i did iq tests in the internet(some somehow valid online iq tests(if you want to know pm me i can't post them))i was shocked by the results)
....108,110,110.....
i know its not the same like taking the test with a psychologist but if you think logically if you score 108 and another one scores 103 lets say then by that you take the conclusion that you iq is in the normal range.Common sense,,,

well, too late! People on the spectrum have been in the Army since the Army started. I know at least 4 people on WP that have been in the Marines and US Army and they are now DXed. Back in the covered wagon days of Autism, they really didn't have much more of a clue as to who was 'on the spectrum' and we got to do lots of stuff perhaps a DX would stop us from doing today. You young guys that have been DXed might have all the 'intervention' but we older guys that slipped though the cracks had a heck of a lot of opportunities.

Well, I think you're presenting it way to dramatic here. I can't see what's wrong with low scores?

I would be interested in seeing those online tests if you would link to them.

Blame my ADHD here, but what did I miss? It looks as though you scored in the above average range unless I completely missed something.

what is the meaning of life if you are self aware and understand everything while everybody is treating you like a delay???

Why are they treating you as if you're 'delayed'? Because of the score? Then why do people know your score?

Scores are usually kept secret between you and whatever professionals administers the text. If not, then you probably can either file a complainant or you can't because you signed something that allowed them to tell others your score and you tell others and then it's basically your fault if people treat you funny.

And who is 'everybody'? Your friends, parents, co-workers?

Or are people treating you funny and as if you don't understand them because of your autistic behaviour? (Then it's all got nothing to with the IQ test?)

That's largely normal behaviour. It would be rude and ignorant not to congratulate a person for a good result on an exam.

Exams are difficult, good results deserve praise.

Non-schizoid and probably also non-autistic people (not sure if autistic people are truly indifferent to praise though) are happy by being praised and acknowledged. So, yes, praise has the intention to make you happy. It's not the fault of the people who praise you that you're annoyed by it. Lots of people would like being acknowledged as having achieved something.

Indeed they aren't.

I was once turned down for having Asperger's.

mmm hmmm. Do you always play these games? I'm seeing what you're doing. Pinning the younger crowd against the older but yet your actions all over this forum shows that you don't really stand up for those who have autism but instead often take the side of those who claim to be psychopaths or take swipes at those who have autistic traits giving warnings to those who defend themselves.

Your actions speak louder than your sob stories.

I'm sorry, Dead, it sounds like you suffer a lot of stress because people don't know that you are autistic. Would you be happier if you had a proper diagnosis of your condition, or would that make your situation worse? Would you have to leave the army if they knew you were autistic? What are the rules in your country about people with autism joining the military? It must be very frustrating to have people treating you as though you have a low IQ. Do you want to stay in the army?

look man i finished army
army in my country is 2 years and is mandatory(half of our country is in custody by Turkey)
everybody knows that i am autistic
the bad thing is that everybody thinks i have borderline intelligence because of my wrongly diagnosed iq test
the good thing is that God knows about this situation and that is making my heart calmer
my life i embarassing now though, everybody treats me like s***
i had many embarrasing moments after this iq test:

"i don't punish you because of stupidity"
"tie his shoelaces"
"the boy is stupid"
"shave him"

they have even sent other people with me in some places so i wouldn't get lost

That's why you don't tell them, when you make it to basic you'll look too much like everyone else the drill sergeants see. I spent the last 6 years in the army (I just got out). Find a different area (with an entirely different MEPS) and try to apply with them, don't answer yes to any of those negative health questionairres and whatever you do, don't ever tell them you've been suicidal before.

I won't lie, as it's against my moral code. I'd rather be seen as unfit and not attain a dream than lie to attain the same.

It's a victimless crime, I didn't raise any concerns about my AS, I was pleasant and did my time. When you're ready to achive that dream, you'll find a way I suppose. I think the French Foreign Legion might take you, it'll be harder than anything you can imagine but you should be capable. I really like the idea of spending time in the military when you're young, it's a great way to meet other people and socialize.
