All aspies should read this
Wow, seriously, wow.
This is the lamest scam I've ever seen. Normally I'd say you're heading into a lot of trouble with those kinds of cults, but this one just seem too lame for it.
Well, with that said, have fun Starchild and let us know how it goes
(edit: last phrase was an attempt at sarcasm, doesn't seem to have worked... )

Starchild, Hi. I wanted to add a little something that I have read that might also interest you. There is a small organ (about the size of a pea) called the pineal gland located in the brain. It has been determined (by studies done on this gland) that it has no known function. The interesting thing, though is that studies have shown that autistics have an unusual amount of activity happening with this particular gland. Baffled scientists have seen this activity as some sort of an abnormality. The interesting thing (to me) about this small pea sized gland is there is another name for it....an ancient name. The pineal gland is also called, in some religious circles, The Third Eye. I just thought that this might interest you. There is alot of info online about the pineal gland and on the third eye if anyone else is interested in reading about these subjects.
This is the lamest scam I've ever seen. God I hate new age. Normally I'd say you're heading into a lot of trouble with those kinds of cults, but this one just seem too lame to be of any real danger.

And what makes you so convinced, that it's a scam, or a cult!
I'm not into cults anyway.
Save me Lord, from yet another presumption expert. *sigh*
As said before. Since you're so convinced that you're right. Get your facts straight first. Instead of copying everyone else, saying; oh how incredible lame this is.
And you have funn being an Aspie.
You who state just how much this suck, shouldn't be interested in just how well this goes. Try not contradicting yourself next time.

Wow that is interesting indeed. Thanx for sharing.
i personally didnt read it (at least not yet im way too tired) but starchild you have every right to believe what you believe as does everyone else. just accept that some ppl dont agree and some do but dont let it change your beliefs. (the school psych tried to do that to me and i then decided she wasnt so great at being a psychologist).
all this stuff freaks me out coz i feel like someone is standing behind me *turns around* but its only the heater, thank god.
I am going to look at this link myself, but before I do I can already say that this would align itself with why many Aspies consider themselves aliens. Perhaps these starseeds are really Aspies?

My first reaction to the characteristics:
Sounds to me like the person who thought of the starseed stuff may be an aspie and knows nothing about Asperger's. Some of those characteristics are not common and some are. I would wager that if the author of that site ever got DX'd with AS, he, or she would turn it into an AS site.

starchild,
I'll be the first to tell you to continue upholding your beliefs in the paranormal. I too have been studying it for years after having had some experiences of my own that tie in that phenomena.
I've had a look at that Star Soul site. Although I don't dispute Andrea's talents as a psychic instrument, I do get the impression she's a little bit caught up in the drama of it all and that her ego seems to come through a bit strongly in some places, although not in a malevolent way. I've met many bona fide psychics in my time but I've also met quite a few charlatans. Even amongst the best psychics, there is a fine line between chanelling from the Universal Mind and letting the ego get in the way of things. Discerning the difference is subtle but there nonetheless.
I also do not doubt whatever link there is between those people who are medically identified as Autistic and those we know in our psychical parlance as "starseeds" or "indigos". At a meeting I attended many months ago, one psychological expert I knew of coined the phrase ADHD as meaning Attention Dialed to a Higher Dimension
monastic,
You really hit the nail on the head with that Third Eye thingy. Your mention about autistics having a higher-than-normal activity in the pineal gland seems to add weight to the theory about autistics and their seemingly apparent existence in another plane of reality that is very little understood. Speaking as another Aspie, to me it seems to make sense. Personally, as I progress through the years, continue to find out about AS both through reseach and sharing thoughts with other Aspies, the more I seem to notice that the mind of an Aspie seems to be on a knife-edge between two worlds. It would be nice to see more research done at that, and also interesting to see if any other researchers come up with any corresponding evidence. As it stands, it is mostly uncharted territory.
DeepThought,
Sometimes I too have wondered if the original coiners of such terminology were un-Dx'd Aspies. And for good reason: the medical community have been very slow to catch up and be able to tag our condition with any kind of medical terminology. AS never really entered the medical picture until around 1980, and in Canada it never gained official status as a disability until 1994. It seems that somebody had to get creative in tagging us "aliens" with something
