I rarely even discuss ASD with NTs, let alone use it as an excuse.

I don't play computer games - did a bit on the Sinclair Spectrum once, otherwise not really interested.

Don't like numbers much - scraped through mathematics & statistics A level.

No visible stims.

I barely know what Anime is.

Understand figurative speech, sarcasm, and abstract concepts.

Can read between lines passably well, given time.

If I create a solipsistic neologism, I don't use it on unsuspecting bystanders unless I think it's a good one, and even then I try and take care to make sure they understand it.

I respect emotions and can often identify them in self and others, especially if given time.

Some aptitude for empathy.

Can read some body language and facial expressions.

Can talk like a NT for a while.

Able to be romantic at times.

Married 3 times and now engaged. Such a failure rate suggests a social problem, but I presume the stereotype is the unpartnered type, and I believe my problem has been my poor judgement of partner character and compatibility, now believed to be fixed.

Not socially immature, have demonstrated good social skills.

Have been known to tease in a friendly way without giving offense.

Reasonably well-rehabilitated from banging on and on about things verbally.

Dress fairly normally and not scruffy by today's standards.

Reasonable personal hygeine.

I can be pulled away from my special interests.

Don't need absolutely strict routine, quite enjoy some change.

Don't watch TV series back to back unless very bored.

Good grasp of, and respect for, grey thinking.

Need companionship especially sexual partner.

No meltdowns - I never show panic and very rarely show strong anger.

Voice not really monotone.

Not bigoted, though I don't know of many Aspies who are.

Able to lie if it really seems necessary.

I rarely overshare private information.

I sometimes enjoy fiction.

I live independently - very independently.

Can stand some crowds for a while if necessary.

Some sense of technophobia, although I also love technical stuff.

Held first job for 15 years, 2nd for 23 years.

Glasses? Not since I was 25. Contact lenses.

What's this about ugliness? I was gorgeous when I was in my 30s, and even these days I look like a rather handsome chimpanzee. I thought most Aspies were supposed to be quite good looking.

Ditto for obesity - haven't the stereotype makers ever seen the inside of Wal-Mart? It's like an elephant house. I'm thinnish, and the Aspies I've seen are all different shapes and sizes.

Wouldn't have been such a long list if I'd been asked this when I was younger. We live and learn.

1.I possess no great "gift".
2.Nor do I have an intense interest in anything; apathy has afflicted me my whole life.
3.I am not overweight.
4.I am terrible at maths and science.
5.I DO enjoy reading fiction, but hate anything that cannot plausibly happen.
