I went to a previous BodyWorks exhibit and it was quite interesting. I recommend it :wtg:

:wtg: <------- can someone explain to me if this emoticon is just another "thumbs up" smiley or a hitchhiking smiley?

the last bodyworlds dealy was pretty awesome...this time it is focusing on the brain....i don't even remember what the last one was, maybe the circulatory system...remember seeing a lot of that.....the best part are the bodies in all those positions...very neat. i'm considering donating my body for the whole plastination thing...seems to be an interesting choice for post-mortem "life"

we should go.

I think it is the "wink wink..nudge nudge...say no more" smiley......either that or just a regular thumbs up smiley....

but if you mouse over it it says WTG...which I assume is "way to go"

I thought I'd post up some links of resources for people on the spectrum in Houston:

FOCUS Initiative

Life Trek

the Coffee House (there's also a video clip as well)

Aspie of Houston

If anyone else has any other information or resources, I hope you can share :wtg:

the Valueman is part of a singular operting unit which may or may not conform to it's souroundings. The Valueman brings love where there is needded. The Valuman is connected to " The Comeritive Airforce" . Also the Valueman is conneted to Wings Over Houston. That event ocurs in late October. I've got a room for two nights "QUEEN" bed since it is so far for me to drive back and forth. * this is not a invite* JEREMY

One place I'd like to suggest for a future meetup is the back patio of Domy Books. It's also connected to Cafe Brasil so one could order food, coffee, tea, or nothing at all. Plus, Domy is just awesome. There are benches and tables in the patio and there's some shade from trees.

During lunch and dinner times, the patio is probably busy. But perhaps, during mid-afternoon there's a lull that affords us space and quiet.

Hey Alan,

Would you (for me) please post info on:

LifeTrek, Coffeeshop (MHMRA), et al:

1. Who runs it
2. address
3. phone
4. website
5. experiences
6. Are they vetted (or at least not abusive like "Autism Speaks"?)

The links are embedded with the typing. You just have to go to the original post and move the cursor over to "Life Trek" or "the Coffee House" and click on them. Hope they provide answers to your questions :thumleft:

I personally haven't checked out Life Trek or the Coffeehouse yet. Right now I'm trying out FOCUS, which of course you are familiar with.

Here's a direct link to the Coffeeshop clip:

Here's also a direct link to the MHMRA pertaining to autism spectrum:

MHMRA services for those on the spectrum

I might as well repost the other links:

the Coffeehouse

Life Trek

ASPIE of Houston

Once again, if anyone else has any other information or resources, I hope you can share :wtg:

Hey, who here is evacuating because of the hurricane? I'm just curious. Our county (Harris) is going to be evacuated within 2 days or so. Maybe you can all go somewhere together. We would have considered evacuating with you guys (as in, going on a road trip with you), but Jack and I wanted to visit his mother in Dallas anyway and we didn't think the hurricane would hit Houston as hard as they say it will or that they would evacuate people in our area. :)

We are staying in the dark hot cave. It seems like it should be pretty safe.
