Yes, I've been told that my neutral face is really scary looking. I have a wallet passport picture of me and I look so creepy in it, it looks like an evil mugshot. I can stare at people and give them the "look" and really freak them out.

I've never been told that I give any peculiar stare towards people. Plus, I only ever look at people in the eye if I'm talking to them. The only type of gaze that anyone has commented on is when I've been staring into space, which would be normal I guess.

When I am looking in the mirror, I am able to make my eyes do what other people's eyes do, but when I am sitting in front of the mirror at the hair stylist's I am unable to maintain that look--and I realize the cold, angry-looking stare that people must see in my face every day. It's disturbing, but I am unable to modify my expression for the whole sitting. That is why I hate getting my hair cut, besides the small talk. They also think you are weird if you close your eyes throughout the haircut. Can't win.

I have to force myself to make eye contact, so I don't really end up staring at someone. I do know this one aspie who gets comments about his stare though, but I don't make enough eye contact with him (he does not care so neither do I) to notice.

I have no idea if I have the gaze because I do a pretty good job at avoiding the camera. People do ask me sometimes if I'm OK or if I'm upset or something, though (Nope, I'm fine).

Zoey, your myspace profile is private and thus we cannot see the pic from the link.

Anywho...

Yep, I've been told that I have an odd stare. The most common descriptor I get regards to it is the term "intimidating."

I have been accused of staring ever since I was a child, even been bullied because of it. I hate looking people in the eyes but I do so because that's what I'm supposed to do, I think not doing so would make me look like an idiot. I have also been commented about my lack of facial expressions. All my life people have said to me I constantly look like I'm sad or angry and that I should try to smile more and seem like I'm interested. When I look into the mirror, I can see my cold serial killer stare and and it does disturb me. I wish I could wear sunglasses all day long.

yep, i've been told my eyes are sad, but i read people on the spectrum can have a distant look and some people mistake it for sad. i've been told i have a lost and confused look, like i dont know where i am and what's going on around me. i've been told i have a faraway look.
look up albert anstien and bill gates pictures and see that look. with anstien it's more of a quirky look and with gates it's dreamy and faraway. love that look. i think it's beautiful.

My flat mate was telling me last night that he thinks his new boyfriend (/person he's sleeping with) is aspie. He pointed at me and said "Yeah, because he does exactly that!" (I was apparently staring) "He stares off into space and usually that means something's wrong but then I ask him he looks as me weird and says there's nothing wrong at all."

My Aspie friend has that look in his eyes if he's not doing anything in particular at that moment. It does freak me out to be honest :S.

Anyways, how do you feel about this?
Do you think that Aspies have a characteristic stare?
Has anyone ever commented on your gaze or the looks you give?

This is me when I was seven. Is this the stare everyone means? A sort of vacant, glaze-eyed look.

Someone picked a fight on me at school because they claimed I was looking at them. I had no idea I had been, and disputed that I was. But I have always people watched without even thinking about it so maybe I did unconsciously. Still no reason to start on me though.
