Of the twelve billion or so humans who have ever lived, how many of them have been remember for a thousand years following their deaths?

WAY TO GO! Twist an idea a LOT and distort the meaning to try to make your point sound more reasonable.
Outside of some people in religious circles, like noah, abraham, isacc, jacob, etc... HOW MANY have been remembered for 1000+ years for having large families? Even "OCTOMOM" will probably be forgotten within 20 years. And the impact she has had so far has NOT been good! But how about Watt, einstein, Volta, ohm, faraday, marconi, turing, dickens, geothe, shakespear, etc....?!?!?!? They may not be known for large families, but they are STILL remembered, made some contribution, etc... Heck, without watt, volta, ohm, faraday, etc... this world would not be recognizable!
Out of the 12 billion, as you put it, only maybe a few hundred thousand may be remembered today. Out of those, FAR fewer are famous. Out of those FAR fewer did ANYTHING really good for society.
