Since I'm in the far SW side of Houston, I'm deciding not to evacuate. Winds should be tough even at my side of town, but I'm hoping it's not severe enough to warrant packing and leaving :bounce:

If your staying in town, I hope you have a safe place, and don't do what I would be doing, standing on the roof with my video camera. I am that crazy, during storms.

Ah, post-Ike. I'm in west oaks mall right now using MADduck's laptop while he's in the computer game shop windowshopping. We both don't have internet access back on so we've been drivin around to avoid cabin fever. Hope everyone else is safe. Those on the eastside got hit hard.

Post Ike ASPIE meetup;

The idea of a post Ike meetup is still alive and kicking ... and speaking of I wanted to
'bump' the thread to see what we have though of and see if a consensus has emerged.

1. Super Happy Fun Land - (Poopie Lungstuffing's Place)

I had heard this was being considered, Olivia did you guys make it through Ike okay?
Is the building okay? Do you need cleanup help? Can you handle the company?

2. Taft Street Coffee / Ex Nihilo Art Gallery - (Jeffrey's Home-Away-From-Home)

A weeknight is far better than the weekends due to crowds as it can get cramped. It's
pretty quiet and very laid back so we could hear each other and interact well. There
are a good number of Aspie's that are involved there so they would be warm and
welcoming to us.

3. (other ideas?)

We're on the east side so we probably won't have power for 2 weeks, so we probably won't be posting or reading any posts... I want to do something, though, if someone would post it quickly and give a date and time, but that probably won't happen and we'll see you guys after the power comes back on anyway...

I'm down for SHFL. Could help clean-up, too.

I am curious about the Taft Street aspies ("Taft Street Aspies" sounds like the name of a territorial gang :eye: )

There was a time when I was obsessed with the TSA and once I wanted to get a job with them. :)

We're at home; we got the power back today. Our house has absolutely no damage, just a fence that's collapsed in 2 places and pieces of tree all around the back yard that makes it look less boring... do you have any idea when and where we can meet again? Maybe we can take turns visiting each other's houses.

My parents got their power back yesterday as well. No damage there either.
