You know what I find disappointing about his whole situation...None of you have contributed a dime. Now, I understand this isn't a charity site. However, there was another thread where a bunch of you contributed money just so that some guy could see his girlfriend.

I think being homeless is much more serious. The guy with the girlfriend issue had enough to eat and a roof over his head. The OP doesn't....

I guess the problem is that for everyone to donate money, the OP must have an active PayPal account which requires a credit card/debit card...which the OP obviously doesn't have.

...To all:
Thank you for your concern , I am in Berkely now , I am full-out HL at this point , I have managed to go to SS , forward my mail here ( Yes , I can get USPS mail . ) , and get a library card , so I can do one unterrupted hour ( -ish ) daily on the 'puter , anyway :) , though much less total that I'd scared up w/my hanging around the " 15-min. " 'puters in SF... I suppose I will have to go to some " lesser shark " :x organization here to at least try and get payee status away from EDCM , and take it from there...My foot is still a problem , and the bandage isn't protecting it now , and , in fact , I do have moderate/mild pain...
I do have a Visa debit card , incidentally  , since that has been brought up ( hint , hint...) ! !! !! !! !!
Unfortunately :( , I wasn't able to vote before I left :( , and it's too late ( To officially register here . ) , now......... :( I was against the " destroy pro-green laws " Prop. 23 and against this SF-level " making things harder for homeless " Proposition...L ????????? :(
I never have had a PayPal account , perhpps I could start one ??
However , there is NADA :( in my account now , I guess I'd have to go buy ( when I had enough in my card to do so ) something :) , and , thus , establish one ?

The best advice I can give is this. When homeless. Guard whatever stuff you have. Trust nobody
they'll all screw you over. If you have money to buy food skip MacDonalds. Go to gas station and buy
peanut butter and bread plus a plastic knife.(It will last you a lot longer), some cereal, don't buy clothes
(most churches have a clothes closet), medical care go to free clinics, and for 4.00 dollars you can buy
sanitary and thus keep your underwear clean longer(yeah I know your male but hey it works), don't skip
chances to bathe, and I hope stuff gets better for you. Also skip the homeless shelter shrink or you'll be
on medication.

Quaids solution topic

ASS-P, you could come to Canada, tell immigration you are being persecuted, and ask for refugee status, like Mr. and Mrs. Randy Quaid. Worth a shot. 8)

...I'm uncertain whether I could create a PayPal now , my debit is essentially , 100% , empty , and I wonder whether a library computer can access such sites , I'm uncertain whether any retail places would let me deposit or cash out of it ( the d. c. ) except the check-cashing chain I bought it at , which I am not sure yet is represented on this side of the Bay .
This is my USPS address...
Walter L. Lilly
General Delivery ,
United States Post Office
2000 Allston Street
Berkeley , CA ,
97404-9998
Frankly , if anyone is inclined towards $ :D , maybe sending " well-concealed cash " ( Or , am I trying to be " the old punk-rock/fanzine dude " ? ) might be ( Or United States Post Office money orders ? But does the USPS even issue them anymmore ? Plus , seriously , in re-checking the address Yelp , etc. , had umpteen ( Well...kind of  . ) complaints about the alleged inefficency and over-crowdedness of this particular P.O. though , I should say , they were okay when I went there to establish my GD address... 8) ) the way to do it , at least until I have enough $ to , perhaps , get a new bank account/a debit card from it ( Needing to feel decent in cleaner clothers first - BTW , I am like XX Large on the trunk side , and not dissimilar in the wist , so 2nd-hand clothes have , in fact , been a problem for me :? ...) .
I am supposed to present some letters addressed to me SOON to the library here to keep my library card , too , actually , a GD PO isn't enough...If worst->worst* , maybe rent some private PO Box ( That doesn't have the telltale USPS address - Which is one block up from the library :? ) and try to pass that as an address , but , even before that , even mail addrssed to me ( Whether $ or not :D ) could be helpful in " establishing an identity " , as I said...Don't expect a USPS reply , if you do so...( And maybe you'll be pleasantly suprised  **!)
In other words , I can receive mail at the USPS GD address outlined above , I'll just say it right here , and , if you are inclined to donate , maybe - what I said , above - might be more achieveable than a PayPal account , which I don't have and , as I said , both the carrying out of and the fulfilling it could be dodgy :? ...

*-" If worst comes to worst " , hah hah hah hah hah hah .
**-Gotta say THAT...!...Right ?

...Did I write an overly long/" cute " reply yesterday ?
Again , because of what I outlined re: my debit card , I don't think I can start a PayPal account at this point .
Again , if someone does want to send me money  :) - I tend to think that cash , sent well-concealed , might be more viable as to me being able to do something with it , until perhaps I have enough whatever to do what was suggested re: PayPal .
As for " camping " , I would need better sleeping bags/whatever and a " backpacking "-style backpack , which I could carry without holding it (I do have rather strong upper back & shoulders ) , for two , takes $/lots of luck to find one .
Going to the bathroom is a problem , admittedly  :(I go through a lot of underwear and I'm wearing my last one now :( Clothes in general , all I have is what I have on now , and it's been a while... :(
Even if it is sort of my " fate/karma " to be HL for some time , I at least need to rest up and have my foot get better , then , perhaps with better shoes ( Which , I tend to think , could include sandals - " full " ones , so to speak - might have me ealk carefully  and give my feet more air - This is once I am better in the feet . ) - As far as going to Canada , doesn't Canada , for immigrants , tend to demand a larger amount of frmal education-degrees , or proveable skills/being good at something or , basically , money anyway  - then the US tends to demand of immigrants ?
Even RIGHT now , if I was to do it , I'd need more money to , at least , be in better shape .
Plus , I don't have a passport ( Had one , it got lost , would need to get anew . ) , which is about a touch more than $100 itself , IIRC .

well i mean thats like your problem. if your money is being held by a public feduchiary then obviously you dont have custody of yourself. someone else does, or the state does. make better decisons and nobody will be able to take your money.

how is this our problem?

I've been homeless before and i never made it anyone elses problem so you should help yourself out. i'm shure alot of people here have been in a similar situation and can relate.

did they ask for money?

Have you tried contacting Homes Not Jails? They might be able to point you to some squats where you could stay.

Speak for yourself.
Not everyone broadcasts every detail. Personally, I feel that doing so cheapens a gift.
Also, not everyone is able to give as much as we would like. The OP isn't the only one in hard times.

So, you're a true hardcore conservative?
