Thank you. Thank you. I used this to explain to loved ones after getting my diagnosis.

Thank you for all the comments. I do still check in and read them all.

For those who may have missed it in the middle of the thread, I am posting new material regularly at http://dudeimanaspie.blogspot.com. Please stop by and visit if you like the original.

It's coming up on a year since I started this thread, and 25,000 views is pretty cool, so I thank you again.

I got to meet Tony Attwood today at a conference and I showed him a copy of "Dude, I'm An Aspie!" He really enjoyed it and told me, "This should be published!" He especially liked the "just a dash" cartoon. He asked to keep the book, and of course I said yes, even though it was my own copy. :D So, whatever else happens, that in itself is pretty awesome.

WOW!

Your blog reminds me of the article on the WP homepage titled "Acceptance: If It Doesn't Mean Giving Up: What Does It Mean?"

Your blog, and in particular, the entry about "!?." Acceptance is reaching the point of the period! It means reaching a point where you no longer feel less than or more than anyone else. And you certainly no longer feel unique or like you're the lonely only singing "NOBODY KNOWS THE TROUBLE I SEEN...NOBODY KNOWS MY SORROW!"

It dovetails so nicely with my Step work now that I've reached Step Seven. Humility, acceptance of oneself, and the stuff in the previous paragraph is talked about all through the readings on that Step.

I, too, have reached a point where I simply accept that there may be or even IS something different about me that I will have to live with and cope with. Acceptance makes ALL the difference in the WORLD!

Thanks again for the AWESOME contributions, greenturtle74!

"I'm not weird, I'm just weird differently!"

Epic.

hahaha I LOVED this! SO cute!! ! :D Thanks for posting. "I rock!" I loved that line! You got it! We all do! In fact, any doubts I had before as to my Aspieness are completely erased after reading this. A lot of stuff here rings so true in my life that I hadn't connected to Asperger's before so thanks! 8)
