Sean, please post links to other sites to prove this person exists. Perhaps you could post some copies of the e-mails sent between the two of you with the e-mail addresses removed. Does this person have a blog, twitter account, facebook link, or anyother networking site to show they exist or provide an e-trail that leads to a real person. Have you ever met this person in the flesh? I want to believe but this sounds like a scam.

Some pimps use this scam to get women to prostitute themselves. They get a girl to fall in love with them then after a month or two they tell the girl they are sick and need money to buy medicine or to see a doctor. They never get better only sicker and needing more money for doctors they tell the girl they need money so the girl walks the stroll for her 'boyfriend/PIMP selling herselfv to save him.. When the girl is used up or fed up they move on to the next girl. I use to work with a reformed pimp who did time for it when I worked at the resteraunt and that was his favorite trick.

Sean please beware if she waits for you to raise the money for a ticket to visit her then changes her mind to instead visit you then asks for you to send her the ticket money so she can buy a ticket. Also watch out if she has you buy a ticket for her all she has to do is go to the airport and cancel the ticket to get the refund. IE she shows up gets the ticket in her hand waits a hour then returns it for a refund then hands it to her real boyfriend if she truely is a women in the first place..

we've never really used emails. kinda old fashioned by today's standards. I have unlimited texting on my phone plan, so that and phone calls have been the primary way we communicate.
She does have one networking site profile, but i'm rather reluctant to post it publically because she's had trouble with people in the past (stalker ex for example) and just because i don't feel comfortable airing her info publically, but i can post a link to it in a PM.

Hmm, I didn't expect it to go this way... I was just trying to find Sean (A stranger, but also one we sort of know and has finally found luck (hopefully) with a girl) Plane funds so he could meet this girl in case she actually IS dying... not paying for a strangers medical funds.

After reading what you said, they still don't look that similar but i think its because in the first pic she isn't smiling... would need more to tell.

maybe. She has a very distinctive smile i think.

her eyes may look somewhat different shades in different pics because she uses photoshop though to tweak the lighting, etc.
so sometimes in pics they look green, sometimes brown. But they're really a hazel-green.

I hate to say it but I grew up in a not so good part of Depew and learned from some friends who went to prison. My friends learned these scams while in prison for burglary. He told me how these scams worked so I would not be taken by them. I was really trusting when he knew me in school.

& yeah, primary goal is still just plane funds. I only said i'd put some towards medical if there was extra.
the website may seem to put a bit of emphasis on medical funds, but mostly just for the appropriate gravity it lends the site. But in any case Adrienne's apparently mom doesn't want medical papers even if for verification floating around the internet, so virtually all i'm going to be able to use the site for now is as a place to host my paypal button.

I can believe that someone on the autism spectrum could have completely misheard, misunderstood, misinterpreted, and misrepresented his long-distance girlfriend of 7 months telling him that she has stomach cancer, such that he tells everybody that she has a brain tumour and when pressed for more details his story sounds like something out of very bad soap opera! ( because I have done this sort of thing myself in the past, with very emotionally loaded data, and it *is* horribly embarrassing! ), but I still don't believe that her story holds up:

She has a bad headache from 8-11 July and goes to the doctor, who apparently tells her within a couple of days that she has a tumour, a possibly cancerous one, in her stomach. ... ... ... ??? :?

But on the other hand perhaps she has been going to the doctor for weeks or months, and experiencing dozens of chronic health problems that we know nothing about ( classic vomiting, diarrheoa or constipation, chronic indigestion, anaemia, pain in upper-abdomen, etc ... *headaches not listed as a symptom though* ) ... because sean didn't clearly hear/take in her telling him. ...

... Or is she switching stories just to see how many inconsistencies he will stomach? ...

Aaarrghhh ! !! ... tears hair over the unresolvable endlessly revolving possible scenarios here ...

We need more data!! ! As Sherlock Holmes would say "it is a capital error to theorise in the absence of data".

Sean, I believe that you are on the spectrum! :lol :) But I don't know what to think about your girlfriend.

Best wishes with everything anyway.

anyone can lift a photo from a website and send it to Sean with a sob story attached to it. I could send you a photo from some good looking obscure American actor who you never saw in New Zealand and tell you that is what I look like. Better yet I could get some picture of some girl's website steal a few lines from another girl on another website get buddy buddy with you and then send you some wedding pictures of the same girl and then ask you for money for the wedding or get you to send me a gift.

Another solid trick is to find a sick kid with cancer that has a website set up that shows the kid durring the good times and then the bad times. It might take me a few months of me showing you pictures from the kids good times or even a year but using those pictures and the trust I would built with you I would tell you my kid is sick please help me especially with medicine and hospital bills. Aspies are suppose to be gullible who better to trick with such a scam. Sorry Sean but thats how its done.

All I needed to see was the term "lamina propria" and I knew damn well what I was in for.

A bunch of medical jargon that might as well be the written word salad of a schizophrenic for as much sense as it makes to me.

There are kids who try to run away who use a similar scam they go on kid sites where they know peadaphiles go to tell them they are a cute 13 year old send them some pictures pulled from some kids website and ask for a plane ticket to come visit them. The pedophile is afraid to go to the police because they have to explain why they sent a 13 yearold girl a plane ticket.

Having your back story all twisted is a sure sign the scammer does not run a tight game. They are either stupid or this is their first scam. I am not saying Sean is the scammer perhaps the scammer got their story mixed up since they are running multiple scams and Sean is just repeating what he is being told.

well, the way things are going, i'm not likely to make it in time for the surgery. So by the time that rolls around, i can probably secure more data from her, supposing she's still in any condition to reply via phone if that helps. Come to think of it, i should probably ask her for her mom's number to prepare for that eventuality so that i'll still have a reliable line of communication...

Sean, if your running a scam someone could easily get your address from ahopeforadrienne.webs.com/ and see where you are running it from and get your name from one of those who is ip checkers. I am not saying your a scammer but its real easy to find out where you are running it from.

If you are being scammed by someone you may be implicated along with them even if they are using you like a patsy or a scapegoat.

watch out incase its from a prepaid disposable cell phone my friend said to use one of those they are untraceable. If they call you back and it reads unknown name or unknown number just hang up and forget about the whole thing they are playing you Sean. sorry.

Do you know you are asking for money from people who likely do not make much money? I know I certainly do not. Many (Not all) of these people are on some form of government assisstance and are scrapping by. The $20.00 some person might send you could have gone for some medicine or doctor co-pay. Perhaps they could have used that money to buy something extra to make their life a little better or easier. You are sounding pretty selfish to ask these people for money to visit someone who you really do not know exists. I hope you can live with yourself after taking these people's money if it turns out to be a scam or a hoax. I know I would not be proud of myself if I did it.

Todesking: None of this was sean's idea. I think that he genuinely believes that the girl he has been communicating with is very ill, and one of his friends on WP thought that he could maybe get help with the plane fare to see her.

I don't think that he is being selfish; he probably wouldn't want anyone to send money who couldn't afford to. I hope that noone would donate, at this stage of uncertainty, if they couldn't afford to.

The problem is that his version of events is so garbled, so inconsistent, that most of us don't know what to believe, there simply isn't enough reliable data to go on. But even his inconsistency is very aspie; I know what it feels like to have got the wrong end of the stick like he seems to have done.

I wish that there was some way of confirming her story, or at least debunking it definitively, because it's very painful not to know if it's true or not. It's sad to think that we may be withholding the help that we could be giving ( to someone genuine to see someone else genuine that they care about ) because so many of us have been burned in the past by our own tendencies to gullibility and certain other peoples' tendency to take advantage of this.

What appear to be holes in her story may be the result of not only his aspie incoherence on the subject, but of her, ( according to his website ) being aspie too, and therefore perhaps equally unable to take in and relay accurate information in what is, if true, such an emotionally challenging situation.

On the face of it her story seems not very credible ( at all ). But it could be that we are missing crucial bits of info. That's the hard part, for us.

I'm not sure what would be worse; finding out that the girl is faking the illness, and what that would mean ( to sean ) about her, the "relationship", etc, or finding out that she is telling the truth, and may ( if Wiki's page on stomach cancer is anything to go by ) die in the next year or two. Probably the latter, thinking about it. As such I wonder if I am actually hoping that she is scamming, because it would be less sad.

I hope that this can be clarified soon. Good idea, sean, to get the mother's tel number.
