I not sure if anyone has said this, but I think Dilbert has to be the most obvious character with undiagnosed Asperger's, ever. Just watch the TV series it shows that he is an engineer, socially inept(no social life), logical, hates crowds, strict morals, more attached to things than people and takes things literally.

The Knack

Read about Dilbert

from the way Johnny Depp portrays him in the film, yeah... I think so. Not so sure about the book though.

I've read some of the book again and you're prob. right. He could be but not on enough grounds. Character not round enough and so on.

Lisc from "The second circle chronicles" by Ewa Bialolecka . You don't know her because as far as I know (but I may be wrong) her books weren't published in English. It's my favourite Polish author. She writes fantasy books. Her novels' action takes place in Lengorchia. It's a land where children are sometimes born with magical abilities but often high price is paid for the talents. It's a bit like in case of the X men. For example Kamyk (whose name means Peeble) is a "weaver of illusion" who can create illusions being able to lie to all senses... except for the sense of hearing because Kamyk is deaf. His talent caused his deafness in the same time. His best friend is all covered with fur. Another boy has deformed legs. Another character, Jagoda (whose talent manifests as ability to "hear" emotions of people even from very far distance) is an albino girl. Lisc (his name means leaf) can do the same what Jagoda but he is autistic and he has to be taken care of all the time because he's very low functioning.

Edit: Well, I've just checked and it seems that only "I am Lamia" was translated into English". Its action takes place in Lengorchia too.

The kid in About a Boy. I know he was socialized by a very eccentric mom, and both were overprotective of eachother. But I think his naivite and social issues extended past trying to keep his mom happy. He talked and acted like he had it, and singing outloud without realizing it might be interpreted as a stim.
