The thing about neurotypicals that can irritate me is their (somewhat frequent) emphasis on social "normality," and the fear of getting embarrassed. Sometimes, I really have to bite the bullet when I feel like I want to talk about the weather in a rather profound way.

It means the world to them to "save face" among their peers.

I struggle with this as well. Talking about the weather is strictly for their (NTs) benefit and I would rather talk about the political subject of the day and proceed with an in-depth analysis. But the weather? Yes, it is a "normal" thing to talk about and I too, have to bite the bullet when talking about weather. But it is still quite a loathsome subject.

They love each other , why not tolerate or some what "enjoy " the company of something else ? That's good enough for me .

I think it's weird that everyone is obsessed with social media and posting pictures and comments on Facebook. Maybe if I had friends I would get it .Who are all the pictures and comments and stuff for. If it's someone in particular why wouldn't u just send them the picture unless posting it for millions of people.

*Expecting others to be mind-readers and divine information from them without being explicitly told

*Saying that they are happy with something when actually they're really not (where it seems you're supposed to act on the assumption that yes means no and no means yes)

*Thinking that doing things on the fly all the time with absolutely no structure in place is somehow 'fun'

*Being able to tolerate so much noise and chaos without suffering a nervous breakdown - and actively producing more of it

*Finding charming but undeniably manipulative people more appealing than those who are awkward and bumbling but honest

*Playing strange social games to try and get their way on the sly, rather than simply expressing their needs and wishes

*Putting the wishes of 'the group' (I prefer to say 'the tribe') ahead of the fundamental well-being of the individuals within

BIG shout-out to NTs who don't partake in these shenanigans; you are my brethren

- Talking ALL THE TIME, typically about things that really don't matter (i.e. what they are currently wearing).
- Constant eye contact during conversations.
- Following along with what everyone else is doing without questioning it (like with trends).
- Not saying what they mean/meaning what they say.
- How much many of them like modern-day pop/rap music (no offense to anyone who does) and love listening to such on full volume.
- Love of celebrities (like when people scream and go all crazy when they see any kind of famous person).

I could honestly go on and on.

The way a lot of men seem sexually attracted to loud, melodramatic girls.

The way strangers only judge you for what they see on the outside instead of considering what might be going on on the inside.

Being loud, constant talk about kids and marriage and families (so boring to me).

Following reality tv. Not info shows, the staged mellow drama for no reason shows.

Talking on speaker phone. Worse, talking on speaker phone in a public bathroom. Really?

Paying lots of money for clothes, shoes, jewelry, purses because they are name brand/in fashion, not because they are functional.

Their linear thinking and the amount of time it takes them to have a conversation.

You got that right about us preferring functional apparel. Sears is the best at having that available.

Talking about kids, marriage and family all the time is what turns me off too and why I often get the boot from NT social groups after a go out for coffee sessions.

I thought since I met a lot of these people at my special interest place that conversations about it would be normative. Epic fail.

Eye contact and social cues.
