OK, I've got to be honest with myself here. I fail at the test every time, but who doesn't? I even sat my NT cousin down to do the test, and she failed too.
I am really good with facial expressions, but there needs to be a hint behind it to get me to know how they're feeling by their face. For example, say if A told B to shut up at an inappropriate time, I would know straight away how B is feeling by looking at their face which reacted to the ''shut up'' remark thrown at them. It's so easy, and it comes natural to me. I'm not sure if I make facial expressions, but I'm good with telling with other people.
But if I just got a random face up on a computer screen pulling a face, I'd be damned if I know what sort of expression they're pulling. There needs to be a sort of situation behind it to give me a clue. On the test, say if they showed a little ten-second video of a scenario, and then having to answer how the person is feeling by the face at the end of it, then I probably would pass the test. Does the person look like she cares? Or does the person look worried? and ect.
Do you know what I'm saying?
