Okay, we need some really good brainstorming for activities and events that you guys would like to see!

Here are some target attendees we can think about:

Adults

Kids

NT siblings

Parents

Keep ideas coming for a name and/or logo idea!

I think we'd need a logo that wasn't created in Microsoft Word.

I could try my hand at it when I don't have piles of schoolwork to finish. I feel it would take a lot of time and dedication to make a great one.

Not saying that I could necessarily produce a "great" one, but I'll put effort into putting out a couple of ideas.

I really want to partake in this; I'll have to start saving. I've never done any autism-related events.

My parents will definitely not let me go, because they hate Asperger's and im Asian anyway, but i will do whatever I can for this. Good luck guys, and feel free to tell me if you have a job that needs to be done.

Sounds like a good thing. As a professional musician, I'd be interested in performing and presenting talks/workshops. It would be great to connect with other Aspies.

I'm also a writer and would be glad to help out with anything needed.

Might I also suggest a more central location in the USA, like St. Louis? This would make it easier for people from both coasts to get there.

Also, webcasting selected events for people around the world, so they can participate too.

I also agree on a the 3 day/Fri-Sunday time frame for a 1st time event. This would be much easier to manage and work the bugs out. An event like this is a big undertaking. Besides, you really get tired after 3 days of a convention. A week is just too long for most people.

You can design wp passports, which are booklets about autism and Asperger's. We can also design mascots with the names under username like emu egg and stuff. Also, I think seminars that offer talks from as experts like sbc, attwood, grandin...would be nice, especially if aspies get to talk directly with them. If you want special interest groups, you can do a poll here first to decide. And don't forget to set up booths for nts who have little knowledge of Asperger's, since one of our missions is to show how cool we can be. Activities should be sorted into age, gender, and role appropriate categories.

It's a good idea to set up easily accessible sensory break rooms, quiet spots in case folks get overstimulated.

This is definitely in my thoughts. Whatever hotel/convention center we end up in, I plan on making sure it is autism friendly and that the staff will be aware of how to best serve guests as well.

I had a fun idea for a "sensory wonderland" kind of room full of awesome sensory experiences. It has been floating around in my head today. :)
