What do you play?

You might be in some special school if you play in "orchestra."

Violin :D . It's quite fun.

Were you a musical prodigy at a young age?

Have you composed any musical pieces yourself?

Nope, not at all :D . I've never composed anything myself either.

What made you pick up the
Violin? I couldn't even learn to play guitar....

This means your fine-motor skills are at least decent.

Do you have any favorite composers?

I don't know exactly why, but I know one reason I chose it was because I liked the sound. I struggle more with the posture than the playing lol, but I guess my fine motor skills are ok (defying aspie stereotypes :D ). I enjoy Vivadi and Mozart. I also like Beethoven, too! :D

One thing which I found, learning an instrument (Violin and Viola for me) were really good for both the fine motor skills and a whole lot else, including another area to do social stuff where there was a purpose rather than the bland unstructured stuff which was my biggest bugbear.

I have noticed that too! I'm in a separate group from the big orchestra (as well as the bigger orchestra), but the small group meets before school. We also go on a lot of trips to perform in different places. I have at least made a few "acquaintances" from being in this group, so I feel like it's really helped my social skills develop at least somewhat. Like you, I HATE the unstructured type of social situation, but I loved being in orchestra and the smaller orchestra group. Thanks for sharing; I can relate :D .

StampySquiddyFan,

I like many of the same composers. Being of both German and Italian heritage, the composers of those countries are my favorites. I lean toward the lighter Italian side for my Classical music tastes. I also like Russian composers, particularly Tchaikovsky. I love The Nutcracker Suite.

Skiddlebugz,

I am a cat lover, too. As a child, I loved horses.

Really? Do you have any cats or horses? :)

I don't have horses. They are way too hard to take care of. Cats are the easiest to care for, and therefore the most enjoyable. Dogs, especially big ones, make too many messes. I hate when people don't clean up after their dogs, especially the big ones. I see big piles of poop on the sidewalk, and it's icky.

Same here, it grosses me out and makes me feel like others aren't respecting others.
