Maybe the word "BAN" is what has you and a few others' panties in a wad. What if we said, "restrict"?

As far as your Support Our Troops story - loved it!! ! I see it everyday! That and jesus fish. But then you went all medieval on us.

There was more than one about pets, and some specifically said what type of pet, well, there were a lot of dog related ones. Even if you restrict, that's just the same thing almost. I didn't mean to get medieval on y'all, but I'm sick of people telling me how to live my life. If this country ever goes down that road anymore than they already have, then I'm moving out until the next Revolutionary War.

It pisses me off to no end that most beaches are "no dogs allowed" beaches. That IS wrong!! ! Dogs rule.

I'm a cat person, but I don't hate dogs. I'll probably get a dog someday. Thinking when the kids are in their teens, I'd like to have a retired police dog trained to sniff out illegal drugs. That way, my kids nor their friends or dates will be bringing anything like that into my house.

Either way, if I did have a dog, I'd want to take him/her to the beach with me if I lived near one. My friend has a dog that likes to go places, and she's so restricted about where she can go. I understand if the dog is aggressive and bites a lot to be weird about having them in public places, but most dogs are not like that.

Awesome idea on the police dog! :hail: Maybe a customs dog would be best. They are more people friendly - they use beagles and beagle mixes. I might avoid a big scary german shepherd. They're trained to "subdue bad-guys" as well as find drugs - so it might be overkill.

Plus - as a cat person you might want a smaller dog. I was a cat person until I met my husband who had a jack russell/corgi mix. She was just like a cat! She died a couple years ago - and now we have a jack russell and she is even more like a cat! She sleeps on our laps, in our bed, and plays head games like a cat.

Yes - the beach rule sucks. Its really bad on the east coast - California was a lot more dog-friendly. Florida - they are far and few between. The thing that kills me is that dogs LOVE the beach! They are close to dog heaven at the beach. All the smells and dead things and running and other dogs...

Its just sad, mean, and cruel to deprive them and their humans from a basic dog right. :x

Well you may not take the dog ones too seriously, but I get real offended about the anti kids ones. Why? Well, first, it's funny how Aspie adults can't stand loud noisy kids who cry a lot. Um, I never really knew an Aspie kid who was perfectly behaved. Seriously, it's the pot calling the kettle black there.

Well said!! ! Bravo! I totally agree - but I've been biting my tongue.

I've actually trained myself to get choked up when I hear a kid or baby cry - rather than let it irritate me. I get really sad when its a little baby - especially a cute baby.

My daughter is 5 and an aspie - and she is the LOUDEST PERSON IN THE WORLD. AND THE MOST TALKATIVE AND REPETITIVE. She drives me insane - which is another reason I don't curse crying screaming kids or their parents.

Now - I would allow theaters and restaurants to set their own rules - more or less - but not transportation. I haven't worked out the details.

First, I want to ban this crazy "I Lost 25 lbs...." ad that keeps scrolling around on the screen---I am tired of the woman on the scales...camera panning up and down, up and down...gee.

Second, I want to ban people who are not my family from touching me. I don't want touched by them. I hate it, I hate it, I hate it!! ! Like while ago here at work (I am a teacher of the gifted), I decide to go the little extra and socialize for a second with a fellow teacher in the lunchroom (I have lunch duty with two other teachers). I script out my social lines. I make a little joke. It gets a laugh. Great. But then, this teacher decides to say, "That's funny," and slaps me across the shoulder. OUCH!! ! I hate it!! ! Do not touch me. I immediately retreat to my own private vantage point in the cafeteria to monitor the students.

Sorry. I guess I made my point. But I just wish people would honor my need for personal and private space.

Give them a nice punch in the face... That's what I do if people won't stop touching me.

Having lots of children when you can't support them.
Not looking after your kids properly, i.e. giving them your time.
Companies that put 54g of sugar in a bottle of their drink.
People that litter the streets.
People that leave computers on when they're not being used/lights on in offices at night/other wastages of electricity.
People that can't think for themselves and only live to copy others.

Oh, I so agree with that first one. I cannot stand it when people have more than just two or three children. Usually they are a burden on society.

I'd ban college sports. People should go to college to learn and get a degree. Not get a free ride to the NBA or NFL. I'd set up a system like they have in every other country for athletes that age. When you finish high school, you either become an athlete and go to a minor leauge club. Or you go to school for a degree.

My uncle used to teach at Harvard. They told him he would be fired if he did not give all the students that were on the football or basketball team at least c's. Even though they never showed up for class. He resigned instead of living with a lie.

Last time I checked (and I check often) pot and orher recreational drugs ARE banned. And look how well that's going.

As far as college sports, it just needs a lot of reform. But for the tv and merchandising revenues and for the chance for kids to get scholarships, its not worth scrapping college sports.

I got an idea. Not a ban though...

Let's let the Mexicans in our country. And to make room for them, let's kick out all those who wish to have kid related bans. We'll stick them on an island, let them run it as an independent territory, and when they all die off from their bans, we'll open a tropical historical vacation site reminding everyone of how important reproduction is to mankind.

Totally agree. But I'd rather make education free beyond high school. We started elementary schools to offer everyone the same education. Then as we kept coming up with crap to teach people, we added to it. Back in the day, you could get a great job with just a HS education. Now you need a degree just the same as a HS diploma. Like people think you can't add 2 and 2 without the Bachelor's degree. We should just add four years to high school at this point or replace the last four with college credits. I know my high school Physics class was tougher than most college classes I've taken thus far. Then we can just charge for the Masters and PhD's so the rich can still feel special. As long as at the very least Law School and Medical School isn't free, they'll be happy. It would be great for the government too since they are a large provider of student loans. Seriously, how many people do you know who actually paid off all their student loans?

LOL that has been proposed in some parts of the U.S. If only the bill would pass...

having more children than you can take of
lawyers

What would you ban?

I wouldn't ban passing on the right, because sometimes you have to when someone is driving too slow in the real passing lane. I would enact a law that says anyone blocking the flow of traffic - or impeding it in any way - can have their tires shot out legally.

Its not illegal in most states - but its never easy knowing which states have it so I always feel guilty when I pass on the right. (But then the radar detector helps) :)

They actually made it a law in Atlanta. Just in time for it to go out of style.

I didn't know it was allowed in any state! Wow. I ALWAYS pass slow people, whether on the left, the right, or one of the middle lanes.
