Things You Would Ban
They actually made it a law in Atlanta. Just in time for it to go out of style.
They did it here in Shreveport as well, a couple years ago. And a local outdoor mall also banned it. I didn't realize it was out of style, though, because I see little crackhead thugs all the time with their pants down. It's almost as if the law was passed just to say they passed it, and they aren't enforcing it. They do enforce it at that mall, though. You can't even wear your hat sideways there (thank goodness, I hate that crap too!)
I didn't know it was allowed in any state! Wow. I ALWAYS pass slow people, whether on the left, the right, or one of the middle lanes.
I know!! ! Imagine my surprise when I first ran into it! They have it in Kansas - I dunno maybe something to do with people slamming into the back of tractors trying to pass.
They also have it in parts of the the Northeast. But I imagine because its so congested and people are so aggressive there.
That's why some people use the "flashing lights" when you're going too slow. Its a NE thing. It actually works out well because only the brave and fast drivers go in the fast lane. I think its also a law on the Autobahn. Can anyone confirm or deny?

Yeah - but its a stupid law. I can understand banning specific gang flair - like red or blue bandanas or Burberry. But otherwise, its just a fashion statement. WHen it was really in fashion, I saw plenty of middle class - rich kids sporting the style. (Ever see Clueless?)
Would you put a ban on mini skirts?

Oops. I missed a point. I think the reason its been such a hot button -whether white kids - black kids - Mexican kids - is because guys are showing their underpants. I could never understand the appeal - but I imagine it would be rather threatening to the men in power.

Cher: "So okay, I don't want to be a traitor to my generation and all but I don't get how guys dress today. I mean, come on, it looks like they just fell out of bed and put on some baggy pants and take their greasy hair - ew - and cover it up with a backwards cap and we're supposed to swoon? I don't think so!"

I would several things intently:
Unleased dogs
passing on the right
having more children than you can take of
lawyers
What would you ban?
I wouldn't ban passing on the right, because sometimes you have to when someone is driving too slow in the real passing lane. I would enact a law that says anyone blocking the flow of traffic - or impeding it in any way - can have their tires shot out legally.
Its not illegal in most states - but its never easy knowing which states have it so I always feel guilty when I pass on the right. (But then the radar detector helps)
Radar Detectors are illegal in certain states. I believe Virginia has signs about it when you enter the state, them or Maryland. But, I also think PA was the one that it was illegal, and they don't have a sign about it. Hard to keep up with it. I usually unplug it once I leave my state except in OH because I need all the help i can get against those guys. In Ohio, the state cops are what I call ninja cops. You'll look in your rear view mirror, and nobody is there. You blink, and boom flashing lights. I think they drive at outrageous speeds with no lights on at night (when I say no lights, I swear, they drive with no headlights).

Well I am here to tell all you people that I wear that style. I'm a mom. I just had kids. Before I had kids, I was a size 10-12. Right after my first, I was a size 16 and then got pregnant with my second. After I had her, within 6 months, I was a size 8. Then at some point, I was a size 3. Now I'm more of a 5 going back down to my 3. I spend most of the money on the kids. So I don't go out buying new clothes everytime i change sizes. I probably own 3 pairs of pants that fit. Otherwise, I'm wearing pants that are too big. A size 3 wearing a size 16, well the pants fall off all the time. So I wear boxer shorts underneath them to help keep them up. I figured you'd rather see that than my real undies. Well, my husband would prefer the world to see that than my real undies because since I do have a nice butt, I can't imagine a man or lesbian not wanting to see it.
Yeah after childbirth, I'm not that modest anymore. As many people who saw my privates in the most pickling of positions, you might as well just posted it all on utube at this point.

Back in the early 90's when it was popular, my sister and her friends and some of my friends were in that style. I took my sister and her friends at age 14 (I was 17) to a showbiz pizza (like a chuck e cheese) and I was dressed for work (department store gift wrap), so I looked nice. Either way, they refused us service because of the way my sister and her friends were dressed. I argued with, "they are just kids." It wasn't a race issue nor was it an issue about thug dangers since we have never had a real thug in this town, just posers. They still refused us service, and they shut down soon after that. Why? Because they were stupid. When you are in debt barely keeping your nose above waters, you don't refuse money/sales. Especially to someone with a very big mouth who then told all her friends and family that aweful story.
On passing on the right...
I pass wherever it's safest to pass when I need to. If I'm in no real hurry, I stay behind the person. But if I'm in a hurry, I pass them. What makes the situation dangerous is when they don't want to be passed. In which case, if they start driving dangerously or display serious road rage on it, you pick up the cell and call 911 to report a drunken driver license plate and all.
But I pass people on the right all the time. It usually clues them into how slow they are going, and most of the time, after you pass that way, they move over, on the interstate at least. Now in town, that's totally different. Either way, on the interstate, if it were illegal in a state, I'd do it anyway. I'm sure most states also have the law that says, "Slower traffic keep right."
In my state at night, I stay in the left lane on the interstate. Why? Deer. You are safer to not hit one in the left lane than the right. They don't live in the median, and I've never seen one fully cross the interstate (though I'm sure it happens, but I am also sure it's rare). They tend to come out of the woods to your right and hang out around the right lane, sometimes in the middle of it. And, they often have no idea what's over the guard rail they jump. In the left lane, you just get a little more notice, and you are less apt to run into one during that slight second you decide to change the radio station or something. For those who don't know this, deer will stop at lights, but sound scares them off. So blasting your radio on those back country roads can make it a safer driving experience for you.
