mmmmm this is so me. It saddens me that others can't see it.

I perhaps was a fool for trying to explain.

You might be an aspie if you have ever tried to understand prime numbers.

You might be an Aspie if you wanted to wear a shirt and tie in middle school to INCREASE your sex appeal.

(Nothing says "bad boy" like a pair of well polished oxfords.)

You might be an aspie if...you go to Barnes and Noble and notice that three very attractive girls have decided to read in the middle of the section of books you wanted to look at...you are slightly annoyed and wait til they leave to go over there(What the hell is wrong with me?!)

YMBAAI The only test you worried about passing was a Turing test.

YMBAAI Flatulence in public does not embarrass you but saying "hi" does.

YMBAAI you notice and complain to your shrink that the handles on her drawers are on backwards. (My friend did that. Then again, she's OCD, like the rest of my friends.)

YMBAAI you notice the misspelling of "senior" on page four of this thread (ninth post on that page), but although you'd normally get upset, you don't mind this time because "senor" looks so much nicer.

YMBAAI you were in your teens when you realized that social reciprocity does NOT mean both people get to spend equal time monologing boringly. I only ever realized that once I'd had conversations online wherein I was interested in what other people said. Unfortunately...

YMBAAI it's not really feasible for you to find people who share your interests. *sigh*

YMBAAI, while in school, you feel a burning desire to go home and count pennies, but by the time you get home, you've gotten sidetracked and instead pace back and forth in your basement.

YMBAAI you have a thriving social life and many friends 8) ... whom nobody else can see.

YMBAAI half the enjoyment you derive from your favorite book series is finding inconsistencies and thinking up ways for them to work.

YMBAAI, when you were little, you opened the car windows on the freeway because you didn't think it would be logical otherwise for you to converse with the imaginary friend running at the same speed as the car.

YMBAAI you respond to the merest hint of something about your special interest with "OH MY GOD THAT IS SO AWESOME TELL ME MORE!! !!" (This is not a good thing when your special interest is mental illness. "OH MY GOD YOU'RE BIPOLAR THAT IS SO AWESOME TELL ME MORE!! !!")

1) If you know 100 recipes that you can eat right out of the pot/pan.

2) Your favourite station on TV is the documentary channel

3) Your favourite part of math class was the proofs.

and my favourite...
4) You can understand something, even if you don't know it.... After all, you can just figure it out based on the understanding later.

5) and finally, if you can understand what I mean by #4

YMBAAI you easily grasp calculus but you are 37 and have trouble understanding the concept of social reciprocity.

But, computers are expensive and cloths are cheap unless you're one of those wackos that buy designer labels . . .

Actually my sensory issues preclude wearing a tie. Even buttoning the top button of my shirt makes me feel like I'm being strangled slowly.

YMBAAI: You remember that in second edition AD&D (which you haven't played in nearly 2 decades) a short sword costs 10 gold, does 1d6 damage, a long sword costs 15 gold and does 1d8 damage, a two handed sword costs 50 gold and does 1d10 damage (by the way, shouldn't it cost 20 gold to follow the pattern?) and chain mail costs 75 gold and has an AC of 5 . . . but you can't remember why your wife sent you out to the kitchen.

YMBAAI if you tell your parents that there must be millions of shades of colour around and they just stare back at you (btw before Photoshop and 16-bit procressing was invented).

That's pretty normal. I buy shirts with a 20" neck for that reason. I won't have something around my neck I can't easier slip two fingers under. Most people measure their neck, get a number, and buy a shirt with that same number. That's a mistake. Measure the neck, add an inch or two, and get that neck size. Also get longer sleaves. If you measure arm at 32-33 inches, you should be in a 34-35 sleave, and a 36 would not hurt. Most people seem to buy clothing that is too small, even NTs.
