You get really annoyed when some genius calls a salamander a lizard or a spider an insect or a turtle an amphibian.

"Amphibian" in common usage is a paraphyletic grouping. The use of such non-monophyletic terms is falling out of fashion these days. If you were to go the way of people who say that birds are dinosaurs, and converted usage of this term to mean the common ancestor of all amphibians and all decedents of that ancestor (effectively making it monophyletic), then technically turtles would be amphibians. -but then again, so would you and I. -and 18th century old white guys weren't groovy with admitting they were amphibians. ...but I digress.

You just don't understand why people are not interested in your special interests like you are.

... you have created more folders on your computer to organize your documents than you have actual documents.

... you have dreams of communicating with space aliens and nightmares about talking with the next-door neighbor.

... you have ever answered the question, "May I ask you a question?" with "You just did."

... you have ever argued over how many fractional digits of latitude or longitude are important.

... you have ever argued over how many fractional digits of pi are important.

... you have ever been chided by passengers in your car for not caring what other drivers think.

... you have ever been chided by passengers in your car for obeying the local traffic laws.

... you have ever been doing something weird with your head or your hands and suddenly you realize it to be weird.

... you have ever believed that certain clothes are so uncomfortable because they were designed by someone as a form of punishment.

... you have ever cited the Dungeons & Dragons Player's Handbook as an historical source in a Western Civilizations class.

... you have ever evaluated real people in terms of their potential Armor Class, THAC0, and/or Weapon Proficiency level.

I don't know what the "reverse Peace Sign" means. It looks like a Peace Sign to me, only in reverse.

Now I found out....it's like the "Finger" in America.

I'm glad I never did that while I was in the UK!

... you submit posts in ANY thread that have nothing to do with the subject of that thread, and you do not understand why anyone would object to it.

When a thread goes off topic it greatly upsets you and you obsess over it. When I first joined WP I was like that.

I've been on WP for years and I still get very annoyed by threads going off topic, even when I've inadvertently been part of the off-topic-ness.

Isn't that just derailing or trolling? I'm pretty sure that's rampant in all forums.

You feel more sorry for a damaged inanimate object than you do for a critically injured family member.

^ I may have watched too much Toy Story and other kid's cartoons that show the secret lives of seemingly inanimate objects. Also I have drawn a few of them, being a cartoonist and all.
