That is really cool Cotton. Looks like JD had a great day. I would have enjoyed that day and it was really thoughtful of you to consider taking the sound out.

Your dad is doing better than mine. We haven't convinced him to have a mobile of any sort yet! We even bought him one and it's never been out of the box.

That is so funny. When we were kids cellphones and personal computers and laptops had not been invented yet and we did just fine. :D

It's amazing how people managed to cope with living in the dark ages.

I guess that's what I'm trying to figure out kind what is in his mind I know only he knows but I just think I can get an idea knowing what other people that live with it every day because all I get from so called NT's aout generic answers you would give a 13yr kid.

Feel free to pick my brain anytime. I'm a moderate to severe autistic teen so hopefully you'll get good answers. Don't worry about getting too personal or anything like that. I'm used to being asked questions about autism and happy to answer them.

Yes and we walked to school barefoot in 15 feet of snow backwards, uphill both ways. Shoes and forward motion had not been invented yet. :P

It's funny, I was just having this conversation with someone this morning. Our society has become so spoiled that we have now made luxuries necessities. My toilet has not worked for over a month now and I just don't make enough money to fix it. So I just learned to live without it. It's not that hard. Kids who grow up without ever experiencing life without modern conveniences would "die" without them. My family is from a fourth world country. When we would visit our cousins there, even though they are not poor, there would be times when there would be no water or no electricity. We did not have electronics like we have now. We managed just fine. But now there is no other way to communicate if you don't have a phone or a computer. I was actually shunned and lost some friends because I don't do facebook. They literally stopped talking to me and stopped being my friends because of that. They said if I can't communicate on facebook I can't communicate with them even though I have a phone, email, and literally live five minutes from them. What has our society become?

I know it was early but mom is an early type person in everything but she enrolled JD in school it doesn't start till September 1st but I bet it will be interesting. He was not a happy camper when we went inside the school. of course, I am never happy to go to a school. We even meet his teacher he would not even acknowledge her.I ask him if he was ready to start school He simple said NOPE.he walked over and turned the lights off and closed the door with us in the classroom I bet this is going to be a mess. I took him to the playground while mom talked to the teacher. guess looking for tips we already are doing some things

hopefully my last question for a while
My mom and stepdad have decided to move back to the ranch, I'm very happy about that will miss the skatepark. They were talking about moving, but can't decide if it is a good move for JD He loves it there, but the house sits in the middle of a very large ranch, the next house is 50 mins. away so it puts us in a very shielded world as mom says.it will really shield JD from the world. I know when we moved to town after dad passed away I was shocked, it was so different the pop. of the town was like 500 it was overwhelming for me living in town at first. They go back and forth on how it will affect JD. Is this good are bad ideal from an Autistic person’s point of view, as for school, my school district covers 650 square miles and in the whole district there are 151 kids that are from 1st grade to 12th grade, last year we had one senior. My class has 3 teens including me. JD's class will have 2 kids counting him this year,( I'm telling this so you have the whole picture) that's because there are only two 6yr olds in the school. Contact with people is very limited and it will be mostly adults that work on the ranch, I think it was the best life ever, we have friends over, so it is not like we never see other teens or kids. Mom thinks it will hurt JD in the long haul. My stepdad says it will protect him, not sure from what. I want to say mom and my stepdad know I ask this question

The more I think about it, the more I think JD will thrive in that environment. And when it come to school, the smaller the better, because he can get more individualized attention. When it comes to autism a lot goes a long ways and more can be too much. Like the saying "less is more". Like the less furniture and stuff a house has the less cluttered it is and the more room you have.

I'm sure there are both pros and cons to living at the ranch and living in town.
