There was someone who was doing some insulting a few months ago but I haven’t seen him again after I got through with him. Please message me if you see anyone. I LOVE giving them a piece of my mind.

It's a good community, but the internet always has rude people and no site is 100% safe.

Welp, Stacymom, the only thing you can do is lurk around and observe and make the decision as to what you think of this forum. It's a subjective thing anyway. Everyone's got a different interpretation. No one can tell you for sure if it's the right environment for your family. You have to listen to your inner voice and decide if it's your kind of place

:)

I just checked out who chris-chan is. He seems like the average guy you would meet on the bus. I don’t see what the big deal is. I don’t get it.

Welp, I've never heard of him. Must be obscure.

I would prefer a place that does not put up with insults directed at people with autism and I don't mind if the place has alot of people or little community, just a place I know won't tolerate bullying.

Thanks!

Nowhere on the internet is truly safe...but at least this is a very niche site so I'm sure there are no perverts here, if that is a concern?
I have seen some derogetory posts but not many...this is still a fairly supportive and thought-provoking place to be.

Anyway, as a 15-year-old who has been bullied horribly, I can safely say that I will be nice to your son, even if no-one else is!
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

though fortunate to be low on paedo count-there have been some perverts/paedos on here, they were found out and banned [cant remember if police were involved].
thats one thing impossible to defaultly block, unless wp start requiring everyone to fax their birth certificates, basic internet safety will stop anyone do not want to ever getting that close.

The thing that's different about WP is that there's noone here who hasn't heard of Asperger's. Most of us know more about it than we want to, but still - the listening is different.

I've never seen any insults towards autistics in here, I don't know where you've seen that. And yeah this site is safe for him, we don't bite!

Others here have already said somethig similar, but I will be blunt here.

Some people here, MYSELF included, have said things that BEG for insults. NO, I DON'T mean opinions, such as mine, about topics that are not PC, etc..... Anyway, apparently some idiots think they are SO great that they will mock, and insult. Frankly, if they were that great, they MIGHT give calm advice that might be insulting but would be understandable and a decent attempt to help, so their obvious insults say that they have some BIG problems.

Anyway, I am on here a LOT!! !! !! ! I RARELY see the WORST offenders, but I see mods and other users talk about them from time to time. Also, they sometimes come back to COMPLAIN about their missing posts.

It is obvious that some people have posted VERY insulting posts that have lasted an hour or less, and are totally WIPED OUT! I mean the ENTIRE thread.

And at least one mod here is relatively severely affected. She is often nonverbal(though she can speak), is hypersensitive, and is suubject to meltdowns. she is also smart with a good memory. So she is likely to understand the insults, be against them, and be able to react accordingly. The others DO seem to have the same desire, though I don't know how much personal interest THEY have.

My point is simply that insults are to be expected. They will happen ANYWHERE! This place DOES do a relatively good job of keeping them in check.

all the moderators use the rules and the Terms of Service as our guides to keep WP the forum we all know and love. All the moderators care, that is why they spend endless hours out of their lives as volunteers to make WP a good place to post.

I was in NO way denigrating ANY moderator here! I merely said how personally some might take it and therefore err on the side most favorable to her son and his sensibilities. As for the "rules and the Terms of Service", EVERYONE(WORLD WIDE) says that and many DON'T follow it. AGAIN, I am not even SUGGESTING that that is the case here, but I am explaining why I made my comment.

You have to realize where I am coming from. HECK, I live in the US! It is getting more hypocritical ALL THE TIME. I went from optimistic to downright CYNICAL. If given enough freedom, I make that VERY clear. HECK, North Korea just declared the nuclear ban VOID! THAT is BULL! If it only now became void, they wouldn't have missles or bombs, yet they have BOTH! OBVIOUSLY, they VIOLATED the ban. And they claim that it is defensive, even though it can't be defensive. If they attack local areas and managed to somehow avoid direct impact, they would be obliterated. The same is true if they try to hit any NATO organization. That includes europe and america. BTW China and Russia wouldn't be happy if we tried to attack korea, so korea ALREADY had nuclear defense just like switzerland and denmark do. (To the best of my knowledge, switzerland and denmark don't have nuclear bombs or ICBM missles, but they BOTH have countries that would IMMEDIATELY come to their support with those.)

Anyway, that gives you an idea of where I am coming from.
