I'd be curious to see how people score on the Empathy Quotient as well... I eked out a 6/80 8O

I did the test and scored 5/80 on the empathy one, I am not really sure why. Perhaps the test is broken...

I've scored zero on the empathy one once, and under 10 on all other occasions I took it. My mother scored way higher than the normal controls.

It's not broken. :)

43 the first time I took it, 42 the next time, and then the time after that was during my assessment process and I wasn't told what the exact score was.

I've taken this same quiz well over ten times & for some reason always get a different result. I guess it's because of the way a lot of the questions are worded. Depending on how I interpret them at that moment, that's how my score ends up. I scored 35 this time, which is my lowest ever. My usual score, the one I get most of the time, is 39. Once I got 43.

I´ve taken the AQ three times now, and I´ve scored 36, 35, then 36 again. Funny thing is, every time I take it, I´m not sure if I´m answering/interpreting the questions right. Some of the questions are just so general, I can´t find one answer that goes with every situation. Also, when I try to create a picture from my imagination, I tend to see small bits of something in detail, but if I try to see a whole, the picture goes blurry. So what does this mean? Is it very hard, or very easy for me to create a picture? How can I answer this question if I don´t know how OTHER people create pictures from their imagination? I have no basis for comparison.

I scored a 33. I've always had high empathy which is one of the reasons I worry about getting tested. My empathy is too high for someone who has Asperger's or HFA. Though just barely, according to the empathy test. But it's pretty low for someone without either, too.

0 - 32 = low (most people with Asperger Syndrome or high-functioning autism score about 20)
33 - 52 = average (most women score about 47 and most men score about 42)

I actually always thought I had an "excess" of empathy, not just beyond the normal AS range but beyond your average NT as well. I've been told as much by others too.

Apparently not though, at least in the eyes of the empathy test. I got a 30.

First time I took it: 38
Second time: 33

I only got 10/80 on the EQ, even though I do often feel strong empathy, I just don't usually act on it.

36 score. The test questions are poorly written. I crave social interaction, but get very anxious, love to chit chat, but 'suk' at it and talk the ears of the unfortunate victim until they look suicidal. lol

How many people with AS like myself would like to be social or crave it, but are terrible in their attempts. Keeping a conversation going is my achillees heel, I end up rambling disjointed information and experiences that interest me.

Yes, I was thinking about that. One thing to consider is the highest score is 50, and most autistics score in the 30's range, so naturally many of the questions shouldn't apply to you. It's just extreme if they all do.
