My older sister who found the AS diagnosis mention to her friend while we were in NYC about it being Brandy Syndrome (my name) LOL! (Since I fit so much of the traits)

Had lots of nicknames, but the one related to AS was Fingers. My dad called me that because I stroked, played or fiddled with random things. (He also said I didn't know what I was doing with my fingers when I did these things, but that was not the case.)

The White Urkel; also cause of my squeaky voice.

Thankfully my g/f is not turned off by it, as her voice is actually quite high-pitched and nasal too!

"Dynamite" (as in Napoleon), and "Our Dictionary" but said with some affection.

Same here, I was also called The trivia Queen. I am known as the Benny and Joon Girl at one of the aspie gatherings here.

"Napoleon", because when I started secondary school I walked around for about a year with one hand in my (opposite, inside) jacket pocket, because I'd been told to keep my house key safe, and I kept it in that pocket... I'm sure it looked very strange.

...and some other things, nothing very nice.

Austin Powers, because at one time I had the hair and the glasses.

Cockney Rebel - use your imagination.

Sweet Pea, because my favourite colour is pea green.

Boy, because I once had a Beatle haircut and a flat chest, at the age of 23.

Sid from 'Flushed Away' - use your imagination.

MEAN nicknames:

"Blinky" because of a nervous tic where I blink a lot while nervous.

"Tidy Bowl Woman" because one day I said I hated myself so much, I wanted to flush my head down the toilet.

Those nicknames were from age 13-16.

I have had my fair share of nasty nicknames, however I have had good ones:

Space cadet: called by a teacher who thought it was funny that I always seemed to be overfocusing on something OTHER than his lesson.

House/Housekid: my friend called me this for a while because I was a big fan of House and I have a physical disability which means I walk with a cane... the kid bit came on later because despite being nearly 21, I still look about 12.

Stork: The same friend later changed my nickname to Stork after the Merb on Storm Hawks (an awesome cartoon, look it up on Wikipedia if you don't know about it) because she noticed that I had the same obsessive paranoia, fear of EVERYTHING, black hair and I always wore black eyeliner which made my eyes look like his.

Kenny: My key worker at college came up with this one because I always insisted on wearing my Parka (like the South Park character Kenny) even when it was warm inside.

Timmy: well my Tourettes decided it liked the way the other South Park character, Timmy, shouted his name, so this doesn't need much explaining...

Noblemen actually used to request their portraits painted with their hand inside their jacket (hence Napoleon) because the gesture signified refinement! So you have the last laugh I guess. :)

"Weird" was the main one. A girl who didn't "abide by soclal conventions" (even though she followed fashions) said I was "bizarre". I was called "Astroboy" and, oddly, "Drugs". (I was not a druggie.)

"The head rubbing girl". This wasn't really a nickname but for people who didn't know my real name, they used to refer to me as that when talking about me because I had a stim of rubbing my head that now that I think about it, looked kind of strange.

"Dahmer". This was because at high school I had an obsession with serial killers and once I bought to school a book about them to read. Someone saw me reading about jeffrey dahmer and that's how I got the nickname - that and because before anyone knew I had an interest in serial killers, they thought I was going to 'snap'.

Bobblehead! :D

In the early years of high school, I'd only started using listening cues in conversations and my first attempts at them were a bit exaggerated. This one girl remarked that I nodded like a bobblehead doll, and the namecalling ensued. :P

This misdiagnosis caused me significant stress, which lessened upon finding out the truth about myself from my current and past long-term therapists - that I am an anxious and highly sensitive person but do not have an autism spectrum disorder.

My diagnoses - social anxiety disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

I’m no longer involved with the ASD world.

I've always just been called Alice in wonderland. One reason is my real name's Alice and where I got the wonderland part I'm sure because of my name. But my mom always described me as someone being in my own world. I've had some people attribute the same notion in how I reflect or come off....like I'm in my own world or not totally there.
