Insurance (any kind): Car insurance, 20 (though this is a 'millstone' not a 'milestone' )
Able to live independently without basic support: 20
Marriage/long-term relationship: 30, separated after 16 years
Children: First child when I was 36. The child was aged 0.

Not really applicable as I have been fending for myself since age 20. Lots of 'nice to haves' though, particularly someone to help me clothes shopping as it is still a total disaster if I attempt it on my own.
And somebody to snuggle up with on cold nights. But despite research showing that single people have more physical and mental health problems etc, society absolutely refuses to even consider prescribing a service to help with loneliness...
I can think of a few more modern day 'transitional milestones' - how about:
First illegal drug use? : Cannabis at age 20. - much more of a huge milestone than "first insurance"
First arrest? (mainly for the males) : Never, although I have "helped with police enquiries" on several occasions.
First prescribed anti-depressants (for the entire western world): 43
First fired or owned gun? (mainly for those in the USA) : Never owned or fired a gun
