I didnt feel the need to have a license until I was 18 and then I started wishing I had've got it earlier but none the less I did get it when I was 19 and became pretty good at driving.. Often when some controlling something I get caught up in it and umm, feel as if the object is an extension to myself.. Once I get used to a car I kind of feel the direct control between what I do and the car .. Since i got my license havent looked back although cars are costly.. I want to convert my car to electric but thats a whole other story

I got my license when I was 19 for the first year i was scared s**tless of the road. But now driving is as automatic as walking and talking to me.

I got my license as soon as I turned 16. I think I can credit my Dad for that though. We would often go on long rides out in the country and I really enjoyed doing that. He would let me drive the car at the state parks or way out in the country when visiting relatives. So, I didn't have any problem with the driving test because I had plenty of driving experience.

Well, I can't say I didn't try to get my licence. But when learning to drive, I was just a bit too clumsy to get it. In the practical driving tests (passing my theory test was a breeze), one serious or dangerous fault will fail you. Well I took four tests and got 5 or 6 serious/dangerous faults (combined) in each test, so something must have been up.

I'm working on my drivers lisence atm.
You need to be 18 here to start taking lessons.

I first attempted it at the age of 19.
But it didn't go too wel with that instructor.
He just wanted me to do way too much at once.
When we drove towards a rotonde (don't know the word in english if it even excists abroad).
But aniways instead of letting me pay attention to the traffic he made me shift gears plus i wasn't aloud to use the breaks because i had to let it role.
Before i got that done he had to push the breaks because it gave me no chance to pay attention to the traffic.
I stopped at that point.

At the age of 21 i started taking lessons again.
This time in an automatic geared car.
Now it's going really well with a driving instructor that didn't have me do so much at once.
I should have my lisence in a few months.

I think of the car as an extension of myself.

When I started, I caught on pretty quick.

I got my license on the first test, even though I made one small error (not stopping behind the white line at a stop sign, which nobody does anyhow).

I did take a drivers ed class, and the on-the-road test I passed with flying colors.

Perhaps it was from all my experience while driving and smoking pot, but after I quit some residual effects lasted.

I find that I am very attentative on the road. Perhaps I drive a little aggressive, but I have a very defensive style as well. I remain constantly aware of what is coming and what is around me. I keep aware on four-lane roads, as to who is on either side and whether I can merge. I don't excessively look to the point of distraction though.

Even when on a cell phone, my attention is more on the road. I tend not to talk on the phone due to that, because it's hard for me to follow a conversation when paying attention to the road.

For this reason, I think I am at an advantage over NT's, because my focus is so tuned to the road.

Is anyone else like me? I know there's some of you out there that can agree!

I got my licence at 31 MF!, there is no catergory for it. Some of my work mates was kind of surprised that I have a drivers-licence. They probably thought that I am ret*d to be able to drive. I assume that the driving test is harder to to pass in London then it is in the states.

I don't think I'd be able to learn to drive properly, and to be honest I don't think anyone I know really expects me to ever learn. I have difficulty judging speed, which makes crossing the road very difficult for me, so I think driving with cars all around me is going to be a bit too much. :P I'm okay with that though, and I don't really have that much of an interest in driving anyway. I love cars, but I'll just find a nice boyfriend who can drive and get him to buy a Ford GTO or something instead! :P

When I'm at a stop sign or a light I get nervous, but if I'm speeding or doing whatever behind the wheel I am not afraid at all.

I got my driver's licence just before I turned 18. The only reason I got one that early was because my high school offered driver training to grade 12 students. My mother didn't like me practising with her car, so by the time I went for my test the only driving I had really done was in the school's cars. I managed to pass on the first try. I didn't learn to drive a stick-shift until I was 20 and my boss took me on a road trip in his car. It was a 16-hour trip (more or less) so he taught me how to drive the stick so we could take turns driving.

Well...I haven't applied for a permit yet, but I am the proud owner of a very nice Haro V4 mountain bike that I use to get around now that the weather is nice. However, my parents are not giving me grief about it any more, and it is rather refreshing not to have to defend myself constantly.

I have been told by a neurologist that I cannot drive (problems with getting distracted), though a different one has more recently said that I probably could.

I'll try to go through training over the summer so that I can join the "Between 20 and 25 years old." category. If I don't make it, it will be "none of the above".

What is really annoying is that when I took drivers ed back in high school, it was just a long series of pointless (and usually gory) videos, and almost no driving. I came there to learn, not watch snuff!

I'm currently learing to drive. I struggled with roundabouts and I always get my signals confused.
