I have never been able to control my dreams. I have had dreams that were almost "lucid" but the moment I tried to be "awake" inside the dream, I lost it.
I have very vivid and colorful dreams...but only sometimes...lately I have not been able to remember them for some reason beyond just a few moments after waking up.
I dream a lot about strange scenarios involving the few people I am closest to. Sometimes I dream about certain animals...like an albino female moose rising up out of a pool of water....or an aggressive golden squirrel climbing all over me...
Sometimes I will have disturbing dreams that are not exactly nightmares because they don't invoke that kind of emotional response in me..but disturbing nonetheless..

last night I dreamed that my good friend was a frail-comatose old woman who seemed very close to death and she had long red hair and was wearing a lot of makeup...then she sat up and sorta wiped the visage away..and transformed into my friend...(this is my ASish friend who has gender identity issues)

I dreamed shortly after Michael Jackson's death that MJ was a teenaged girl who was regularly molested by her father.

i have all 5 senses in my dreams and sometimes can control them. they almost always have to do with one of my obsessions. let alone some are nothing but me in a giant world of nothing but things for me to stim with. i wish i could die in my sleep a lot of times and get stuck in the dream world,

anyone else here have the wish to die in their sleep sometimes?

my obsessions are

powerchairs, assistive technology, stock market, neurological diseases and disabilities, autism, sensory integration disorder, stimming, medical, photography, genetics, videography, disabilities, ventilators

my sensory based obsessions (due to my sensory integration disorder, a part of my autism certain things relax me or otherwise make me feel happy) are straps, blood pressure cuffs, tight warm things and places, deep pressure, being mummy wrapped, tight hugs, lead aprons, latex, PVC, rubber, silky, neoprene, nylon, rubberized nylon, slobbery kisses, leather, sticky mud, clay, quicksand anything of the likes

When in doubt, ask an autistic. Chances are, they're obsessed with what you need to know.

My dreams tend to be visual, sometimes with audio but sometimes without, and sometimes with the sense of touch. Rarely with the sense of taste. I don't think I've ever had a dream with a sense of smell.
In ones without audio, I/people/whatever still can still "talk" or whatever, but instead of "hearing" it, it's sort of like... telepathy.
I mostly have no control over my dreams, but sometimes I can give them a little nudge in a certain direction.

Ooooh, you get to continue a dream the next night?? XD That's so cool. I have to get VERY lucky for that to happen. (I have some control, but not enough to answer the poll as "do have control".) Mine are always visual. (Usually excessively over-the-top visual, heh) I guess there's some sound, but I can't really remember anything specifically, besides talking. Even when things explode, I can't remember if they make sound. Hmm, that's weird, I never thought about it before but now I'll be paying more attention to the sound when I dream. XD
Text gets all jumbled in my dreams, so I don't think a text dream would work for me.

I can continue the dream, too, if I want to.

I very frequently utilize this ability in my dreams, it is awesome for me to simply continue where I left offf.

So everyone, do people's mouths move when they talk to you, or is it almost telepathy?

My dreams are both visual and audible. I don't control them.
Often they are very vivid. And if I wake up while dreaming, I may want some time to "digest" it before getting up (if I have the time, that is), and still have some of the mood from the dream left, be it pleasant or unpleasant (it's seldom a real nightmare though).

Sometimes I'll dream a song, with text and all, but can never remember it when I wake up... :( except from a very few cases where I remember a fragment.
It would have been funny to be able to remember them. :)

I've done that before with the songs. I swear I'm going to remember it in my dream cause I'm usually aware somewhat that I'm dreaming, and I never do.

I also like to give me some time to "digest" my dream before waking up, but anymore I end up falling back asleep in that process.
