WITH TIME-EVERYONE ,G.T.

Even strangers that small talk with me will remark quickly and say "YOUR NOT FROM AROUND HERE" and wanting a reply I say" been here 44 years "and they seem taken aback

Ive been called weird, crazy, eccentric and also very smart, and kind ..... I evoke a large number of responses.

I also seem to have the uncanny ability to attract people with 'borderline personalities' and hence try to undermine me too .
It seem it's their mission to do so and they display a rabies type of focus to do this .
I've noticed this in more than a few people and I sense fear in these.
Nobody messes with me on a physical level because i'm an atheltic 6'2" @ 240 lbs.

It's not that people generally go "Oh, another aspie" and head the other way, it's just that I fail in some way to make any impact on them. So they head the other way.

There are more people around now with some idea of what aspergers does to an individual - hell, even I know now - but still I get caught in that attention sieve that removes potentially annoying people from consideration. From an equal rights point of view it's all an incredible waste and an abomination as well, but noone cares about that.

best friends know i'm absolutely wierd.
friends think i'm quirky but pretty average .
honestly im so quiet at school, most people believe i am normal i think, unless they are not saying.
on a rare occasion a person who doesnt really know me may sense i'm "different" and actually seem to like it, thinking i'm honest and down to earth, whilst another may actually be a bit scared or awkward around me.

How could one tell? I don't ask for input and few people volunteer opinions of this sort.

That's what I was thinking. I'm certain random people can tell that I appear quiet and shy right away - but beyond that I don't have a clue.

Everyone. Unless they don't eat them.

Edit... See what happens when I multitask? I meant to say unless I don't know them.

Random people that have met me for a few minutes will mention I'm shy. After they meet me a few times, they'll flat out tell me I'm weird.

LOL missboots, so true!

And you actually live in Las Vegas, how cool! I was there on my honeymoon and loved it, especially the food.

I'm inclined to say that most people can tell I'm a bit odd, but how would I know, really? I know I don't come off as different as some people with Asperger's (of course, I am not fully I have Asperger's anyway), but that may be because I don't really open my mouth. I tend to keep all my thoughts in my head and filter everything I say before I say it to try to blend in.

I think people see me as that quiet smart girl that draws a lot. Even if they attempt to talk to me, they probably just decide I'm shy or antisocial, because I try to keep my weirder thoughts under wraps.

I had to pick, "other."

Part of me wants to say, "I have no idea what other people notice."
Part of me wants to say, "The cues are all there for anyone to see."
Part of me wants to say, "The sidewalk is in good condition on this part of the street."

There are a few things that people *have* noticed--most notably my habit of staring into space and tuning out.

I get by well enough to pass as "quirky". I am odd, but not enough to draw a great deal of attention to myself. Most people close to me would say this straight off, it takes strangers a bit longer (they have to wait until I drop the NT facade).

I know that people notice that I'm different because they tell me. If they didn't, I'd have no idea.

Everyone notices I'm different, but it's not usually held against me. In fact, most people attribute it to being one of my strengths... that I'm different, I'm not afraid to be different, and that I actually like being different.

Most people, and all people apart from other "weird" people like myself.... That is when I think I've found a soul mate at last.... but it doesn't . Last that is.

One person wanted me to fit her " Birthdate Book" description of who I am so much so even said I was charismatic...........that was a clear give away....... I think she latched on to that word in her book to mean WEIRD.

In what context do they tell you? Do you ask them to tell you what they think of you?

You're lucky then.
I was so quiet in school that that was one of the things my teachers were worried about. If I had played "walk about" and talked endlessly when we were actually supposed to focus on the subject, like half of the class did every day, that'd be okay. NTs, go figure...
