Alcoholism runs in my family so I try to steer clear of the stuff. I also fear what I would do without inhibitions.

I drink too often. I hate the way it makes me feel. I hate the loss of control. But it allows me to socialize in a somewhat normal way. So I always turn back to drinking, even when I want to quit.

I favore Merlot over fresh brewed bear and wine coolers. I drink all three in moderation though. I set the amount and keep it there. I have been drunk one time in my life, and don't want to ever go back again. Everyone talks about the angry drunk, but I was the opposite. I was scensitive on a very pathetic level. Blind but wow....

I drink wine occasionally, but only because I like the taste. I never drink to get drunk.

I drank on and off as social lubricant and stress relief from teens to early 30s, nothing too serious (IMO!! !) still manged to get a degree, etc., but tended to overdrink often. quit at age 33 for 6 years straight, because I got tired of f*****g up and was worried I'd injure someone by driving.

however due to various stresses I resumed. however, i've learned a few tricks: only at home at end of day (in most cases), try not to have too much on hand at any one time, eat while drinking, steer clear of the hard stuff. I have a hard time opening a bottle of wine and not finishing it. I'm better with those low alcohol british beers which get you bloated so you'd rather then have a cup of tea.

it can be a form of self medication and there are times when I feel it will make me feel better not just immediately but for a few days afterwards.

periodically i'll quit for a few months at a time and generally never really crave alcohol.

Since there's no "drink moderately occasionally" option, I went with occasionally. I brew beer, make wine and mead, but I average less than one drink a day and can go for weeks without drinking at all.

I'm an occasional drinker and it does make me more chatty. I like the feeling of being "tipsy", but hate getting "drunk".

I don't drink at all. I absolutely hate the smell of alcoholic drinks and wouldn't want to drink them. I also hate being around drunk people and wouldn't want to be like them myself. I don't like what alcohol does to people's self-control, health and life.

I very very rarely drink and when I do it is sip here or there no big deal. Fortunately for me this is a good thing because I am on my P plates and I cant drink at all before driving even when I get a full licence I probably wont drink much trhen either.

When I was young I drank heavily in social situations. I guess I was trying to overcome social anxiety. Problem is, I don't like drunks. They make me anxious (lol).

I don't drink much now.

That's me exactly.
I chose "in recovery", because I'm really trying hard not to drink at all. Lots of people in my family are alcoholics and I've been one too. I don't wish to go down that road, so I'm trying to get away from alcohol altogether. There is no "occasional drink" for me anymore.

I think I could have chosen three different options.

-I like getting drunk
-but I only like drinking occasionally (on the weekends at most)
-and I prefer some old fashioned maryjane to booze.
