Beautiful! The singing, song arrangement, composing, everything. If I had a CD of your music, it would be playing. I wasn't as excited about the second one, clinical, as the other two but for others that could be their favorite one. I could sense or feel your passion while you are singing and playing. You really have an extremely pure tone quality to your voice.
if you start to sell your music, let me know.

How easy is it for you to create music like that?

sunshower, I really enjoyed "Marzipan". I think it helped that you added the lyrics underneath. Is that something you'd consider for the other two songs?

I am always in awe of people who can play any musical instrument well as I've no artistic or musical bone in my body. Keep on singing. :)

Not super easy - I have a lot of inspiration, but it's a long, time consuming, and intensive process writing a complete song. You have to get the lyrics, melody, and piano accompaniment right, and also notate it onto a score. It takes me a long time to do all the accompaniment because I am a perfectionist, and if one note is out of place I won't move forward in the song until I have fixed that little section so it sounds right.

As for Clinical; it is an extremely ambitious song. The piano accompaniment is the hardest I've ever written, as are the vocals. It's difficult to pull off in performance for me because I struggle with the piano a bit and tend to make mistakes. Also, it's the sort of song that really needs a full orchestral backing to support it and create the right atmosphere.

My husband just listened to your music and loved it as well.
His advice
Step 1: get an external microphone and put it near you so you don't get all the background noise from turning the built-in microphone up so high.

Step 2: polish video. He said it would be great if you could to basic editing such as a title screen that has your name and title of song while fading into you singing.

Hi Natesmom, tell him thankyou for the advice. I tried to edit Marzipan a little on imovie, but then the file wouldn't upload onto youtube even though it was in a recognized format. :? That's why there is no editing at the moment. I am really quite terrible with computers and technological equipment, plus I am almost phobic of it, which doesn't really help to maximise video quality hahaha. I just recorded them on my old nokia mobile phone with its inbuilt camera, which is why the image and sound quality is so terrible.

I agree that I need to get a microphone or something, but I keep putting it off and shielding away from the idea of shopping for equipment and setting it up etc due to my phobia. I do have a college friend who has extremely high tech filming equipment she uses to film documentaries and she keeps offering to record/film some of my original music. I'll probably do some recording with her at some point next year, so I can produce some reasonable quality mp3 song recordings.

I really am a hopelessly acoustic person hahaha.

As soon as I figure out how to use my Flip camcorder, I will post some of my own videos on YouTube.

Awesome, Tim :P. Are you a technology-phobe like me?

You could use your mobile phone, pretty much all the relatively modern ones have an inbuilt video recorder these days. That's what I use, although the picture can be so blurry sometimes it's hard to make out.
