My main reason for listening to music is relaxing.

So I usually listen classical music.

Listening other people' s voices is a tiring thing for me. I try to understand them and sometimes it gets hard.

I prefer to fill the meaning of melody by myself, without any other ideas.

I tend not to listen to music when I'm in a negative mood. I don't want a particular song being ruined for a long time by the mood I was in when I last listened to it :(

I will listen to literally anything, music is my life...opera, funky house, alternative, R&B...that said I did go through a phase in my childhood where I listened to nothing but ABBA and played the same tape on my Walkman for 5 years, but I've realised that there is so much more out there!

There are some Aspie theme tunes, like "Iris" by the Goo Goo Dolls.

I like Eminem but I think it's because I can relate to a lot of his songs.

I don't relate to Eminem songs, I did used to relate to Morrissey/Smiths ones. I like different music to most of what is in the charts, but that's only now because the charts are so terrible. Up until 1997 (end of Britpop) I was quite happy with what was in the charts.

One thing I find is that I am not too keen on "fashion" in music. For example I do NOT believe that:

- Britpop style music is dated. To me it's good music, always was and always will be and is as relevant now as it was in the mid 1990s.
- Artists from the past should give up and hang up their guitars (or whatever they play) because their time is up. If they're music's still good, I will listen to it. In a lot of cases it isn't - eg David Bowie really hasn't done anything great for over 20 years. Some of his music has been ok but he used to be one of the greatest of all time and merely "ok" doesn't meet his standards.

It's always nice to hear "innovation" in music, i.e. a sound I haven't heard before, and I may appreciate it, but I am generally going to prefer a traditional pop-rock song than something too innovative. Music should evolve in natural small steps, not in giant leaps.
