I like action movies, but they have to have a good plot too. I'm a big fan of superhero movies, especially Marvel ones. But overall, I mostly just like good movies, whatever genre.

I like James Bond and I like Lethal Weapon 2 and The Long Kiss Goodnight. It just depends on the movies. I mostly like Family or Drama. I have noticed that with my DVDs. I also have kid movies and a very few horror movies.

I could have handled Terminator Salvation better if they wouldn't have kept moving the god damned camera the whole time. As it was, I was keyed up and nervous the entire rest of the day after watching that movie.

A lot of fight scenes do confuse me. Keeping track of where everybody is, how well they're doing, and what they could possibly do next, is very hard for me. But between fight scenes, as the plot develops (assuming I can work out what the fight's outcome actually was), the plot tends to be fairly easy to follow.

I like action and violent movies.

Incredibly I used to get upset whenever a favourite character got into serious trouble. Now I'm okay with it.

I like action, but I really need a good plot or an awesome idea/characters driving it. Anything thought provoking is good with me.

I'm a big fan of political intrigue and conspiracy, so naturally, all of Shakespeare's tragedies are applicable.

I have a hard time with movies in general... I have a hard time sitting and just watching them. But I have been known to enjoy a movie now and then and the ones I tend to not fall asleep during or walk away from are things like Kung Fu Hustle, which is a movie I have watched well over twenty times. I really liked that movie. I like Jet Li movies as well. It is fair to note though that I have a fondness for martial arts, so it stands to reason I would like those kinds of movies.

I can't watch movies that have sociopaths and psychopaths preying on or torturing and killing people, whether they be fictional characters or soldiers or what-have-you. There are just some images I don't want to have indelibly inscribed on my brain.

I like action movies. The ones without much plot are still fun to watch but I love watching something that engages me emotionally and makes me think at the same time.

I don't like them because they cause a lot of sensory issues for me. Loud and a lot of flashing and gunfire and flames and stuff. They're horrible.

I agree. Especially if I pay to see something at the cinema. I don't want to leave with nothing but a headache from aimless screaming, shooting, explosions etc. Action movies are ok if there is actually a point to all of the chaos.
However I don't love action movies but I don't mind watching them.

For me, like many here, it depends on the movie. I don't really like to categorize movies into genres, because the best ones usually don't fit easily into a particular category. I will say that I don't like action movies on the big screen...that's too much noise and motion for me.

I'm not a fan of big-budget, Hollywood action movies, which tend to value explosions and gunfights above interesting plot and good acting. I did rent "Die Hard" last year, since I had just begun my interest in Alan Rickman, and was trying to see as many as his films as I could. I enjoyed his performance (Hans Gruber), and thought the movie as a whole was alright, but it's not on my list of favorites. It just had too much of that annoying Hollywood flavor.

I've also come to realize that I really enjoy Luc Besson films, like "Leon the Professional" (definitely an action flick) , or anything with Jean Reno.

I suppose I like anything with good acting, interesting characters, good story, and good cinematography, regardless of how much of an "action" movie it is. I don't mind a bit of violence if it helps to tell the story.

I like action movies that have an actual plot or interesting story line. Too much talking (or not enough), conflicting/too many story lines, etc tend to annoy me. I will admit that i did enjoy the Transformers movies in that they held true to the original fiction and there was enough balance between action and needed information to enjoy it.

other related favorites include: Serenity, Alien/Aliens, Pirates of the Caribbean (twisted logic jokes are among my favorites :D ), some Pixar/Dreamworks movies (sucker for CG), and various others.

Ones that failed: Bloodrayne (took a perfectly good slasher game and the movie got screwed), Ultra Violet (tried to do too much . . . vampires that didnt suck . . . cmon), and several others that i made the mistake of watching/buying  :wall: .

But, i mainly watch them for the witty/snide remarks given the characters' situations. Favorite famous last words: "Aw sh17 . . . "
