Nowadays talking to people does not cause me mental anxiety, but my stomach still hurts - in fact I sometimes wonder if it is the only way that I know I am anxious about something now.

i was writing this very thing in a pm just now. my job is very high stress, i know this to be true. i dont even sense danger when i am there though and i keep telling my psych that i dont 'feel' anxiety, but i know i must have it. my stomach is really going these days. it is shutting me down. scary stuff. but maybe my stomach is my emotions freaking out.

Not sure what the correlation is but all the people in my family with AS also have IBS, Chroens or other GI problems. Myself included.

Also I had horrible acne from age 12 to 28 until I stopped drinking milk. Apparently it was the Casein in milk I am allergic to.

What is meant by gastro problem? Like what are examples of symptoms? The only thing I can think of is that sometimes I get this stomach ache, then fart a lot for 10 minutes, and then I'm all good.

Tummy ache
Wind
Bloated abdomen
Pain especially below the waist
Constipation
Diarrhoea
Spasmodic pain
Lots of belching with other symptoms
Foods which bring these other symptoms on
'

I have all of the above. I used to be incredibly lactose intolerant, within ten mins of eating cheese I'd be very very ill. It's not as bad these days, I'm 29 now, but I wake up each day with nausea and cramps for the first hour or so, then that goes away.

If I eat anything rich or fatty I get cramps, I get a lot of diarrhoea, belching, indigestion, wind and bloating. I also have a pretty much immediate response to any kind of adrenalin producing thoughts/experiences. If I'm nervous/worried or scared, you can guarantee I'll be in the bathroom for a while :/

I was diagnosed with Aspergers at the age of 40. Last month I developed constant stomach pain with on off nausea. My GP said it was urinary tract although I tested negative. The antibiotics did nothing but give me more stomach upsets. Then, I was put on anti spasmodics in case it was IBS. Once again the medication didn't work and gave me stomach problems. Pain killers dull the pain but don't get rid of it. I then had an ultrasound which thankfully came back clear. I also had an internal examination which was too painful to tolerate. I have three different types of pain: dull, stabbing, and neuralgic which varies throughout the day. However, the pain is never unbearable.

Initially, it was deep seated and grinding and woke me up at night. Now this does not happen and it is no longer a painkiller type pain. I am waiting for the hospital to write to my doctor and hopefully I will get a firm diagnosis. Although my doctor knows about my Aspergers, she has not mentioned it as a possible connection.

So far I have been mercifully told that the problem is that I am so healthy and I have no alarm bell symptoms. I can still get on with life despite the pain. My doctor has no idea as to the cause. In the meantime, I will try cutting out coffee as this can cause sore stomachs and see if I can diagnose myself.

Has anyone any ideas?
