In terms of physical qualities relating to AS, I'd state that my awkward gait and stance is one of many strange qualities along with the fact, most people have often tormented me a about my mannerisms that, sometimes have been mis-construed for something that is absurd.Anyways, I realise there are physical qualities that can sometimes either be exhibited by those in the spectrum or have some connection to AS otherwise..

Interesting list, really

Body:
Long Arms - right, sleeve are usually too short - but I'm tall
Bony wrists - wide (18cm/7,1"), but bony
Slightly bell-shaped rib cage - oyaaa, my lower ribs are always visible in tight tops
Shorter-than-average distance between the ribs and hips - wrong
Shorter-than-average necks - mine is quite long, but it's also wide
Square shoulders - right, and wide
Arms hang out to the side, instead of being directed straight downward. - right, and I never know what to do with my arms

+ clumsy motions, wrong body coordination - I hate aerobic!

Head/Face:
Intense or dreamy, deep-set eyes - mine are somewhat Lappid
Eyes slightly too close together - not really
Prominent features - if it means I'm easy to recognise, it's true
Large head - right, but in good proportions with whole body (I'm tall)
High, wide forehead - right, and high eyebrow arch

+ young-looking face

I look like I'd have Acromegalia (maybe I have, who knows?), not advanced. Anybody also looks like that?

They look "geeky".

I think it also shares physical signs with FXS.

Natty- I forgot to post that my son does not really tilt his head to the side now, but he did when he was a baby. I just thought he had torticollis. That is when the babies neck is not aligned properly when they come out. They usually have to go to physical therapy for this.

Two words: strange gait. But that could also be CP or dyspraxia.
I don't think you can be 100% sure someone has AS unless you interact with them or someone from their family tells you about them.
The dreamy look can often be ADHD or just someone that is thinking a lot.
You can't really say they're taller, bonier or slimmer because people of all shapes and sizes have AS.

thank you very much pumibel :)
that "alert" look was one of beleagered wariness due to getting the bum's rush from drill instructors in army basic training, where that photo was taken in the early 80s. now some photos of you, por favor?

You sort of remind me of Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory.

But yes, your photo is pretty much Asperger's Syndrome personified.

you look distinguished like an educated young urban professional lady but the skull and crossbones red bandana make it look like you ride a harley davidson motorcycle on the weekends. i hope this made sense.
and your expression sitting on santa made me think you were wondering, "what is he gonna give me for xmas THIS year?"

For some reason in recent years they seem to have downplayed the old physical signs that would of been part of a diagnosis back in the 1990's

Asymetrical face. In the traditional ancient greek ideal of beauty. This was something that was studied in the 1990's I don't know if anything came of it. There was some kind of theory that people on the spectrum are more asymetrical in their facial features then the mainstream population.

Rose coloured cheeks. The people who advocate the gluten/casein diet claim this is a reaction to the Heroin substrates that are present in the body from eating gluten all sounds a bit pseudo science to me

Unusual Gait, that I most certainly have

Poor gross motor control (But not to the same degree as Dyspraxia)

No natural sense of balance (Cross over with Dyspraxia)

Is this really a physical symptom? When I was born the doctor was concerned about my large head. They "watched it" and said I would be OK. I ended up having to get a large graduation cap. It's strange though because when I look in the mirror I don't see a big head. LOL....

I nearly had a misdiagnosis of Hydro cephilacy as a child due to the size of mine (Water on the brain, a condition that can lead to intellectual disability/brain damage)

Thanks I am not sure why I was wearing that at the time of the picture. Sometimes I like to just throw something strange into the mix for fun. I may have needed a little something red that day.
I think I had something for Santa, actually.

On a parenting forum I'm on... it was rather interesting. A few parents kept bringing it up in the photos section-they said we all seem to have almond shaped eyes. Smaller towards the middle and wider on the other sides. It was interesting. Some called them "tear dropped shaped eyes". But I doubt that is all of us... looking at the pictures though, I saw what they were talking about. It was pretty coincidental.

I have subtle epicanthic folds, so my eyes look a bit like this. I've always assumed it was from some Asian ancestor on my father's side -- his family history is mostly unknown.

My son has a noticably Aspie voice and affect.

I never physically fit-in with my peers as a kid I was always considerably taller than the other girls, as an adult I am quite tall (5'10") I'm very broad built in the shoulders, and stronger than average (my physio told me this, she said to me that I was stronger than half the men that come to the clinic)

I don't think I walk weird, but I've been self-concious of my gait since I was about 8, my parents used to tell me off for walking with my shoulders slumped over, so I don't know, I do feel that my movements are more awkward than other people though, I'm certainly not the graceful sort! :D

I do have a very broad forehead, I don't think I have a particularly large head, I also have quite large eyes, which means I seem to be 10 times more liable to get dust and other crud in them!

first off, i have yet to be diagnosed, but lets just say im finding more in common with the people on this forum than i thought i ever would...
amd intense is exactly how people describe me.. i dont even know what "intense " is supposed to mean in that context....
