I don't care about weight per se, but I try to get rid of fat that's around my waist because it feels extremely uncomfortable. Plus, it looks ugly if I'm wearing a bikini or a short top.
I'm hypersensitive to heat, and having extra fat in my body only makes it worse.

On bold: I had unsweetened iced tea once (it was when I went on vacation in the States, do they automatically sell them unsweetened in New York State?) and I didn't like it.

I don't like unsweetened tea that much, either, but if I am someplace with nothing but softdrinks, some diet, some regular, and that's a choice, I'll take it. It has no artificial sweeteners, colors or sugar, plus antioxidants

yes but it's mostly when me and my boyfriend are together ( together) and i feel uncomfortable with him looking at my body. it cause me to push him a way, he always say i love you for you. and every time i see a new audition i think i'm too fat to try out, and diets don't help cause one day i do so great then the next not to good. thats way i decided to just at least try to be happy with my body, and exercise at least 30 min everyday, it kinda help me not worry about gaining weight, i may not lose a lot but with me i get more depressed if i gain.

I've always drank unsweened tea, and enjoyed it much more than sweetened tea.

They don't automatically sell them unsweetened, as far as I know. But maybe now they do in NY? I know they just passed that no-added-salt law, and there's one coming for sugar, so you might actually be right!

I don't mind unsweetened tea, but given the choice I definitely prefer it sweet :)

Ian, I'm sorry your girlfriend is going through this. The problem isn't her weight, it's that openly calling other girls fat -- especially if they are thinner than the girls doing the name-calling -- is the favorite method of girl-to-girl bullying and the guys who are inclined to bullying are starting to pick up on it, too, as an acceptable way to target girls. My daughter -- who went through high school eating no more than a Slimfast shake and an apple per day -- was called fat constantly by girls with bellies that hung over their jeans. It lasted until she realized that it had nothing whatsoever to do with her weight and that it didn't matter how thin she got, to those calling the names she will always be "fat." All it meant was that they didn't like her and were the kind of crass, meanspirited people who wanted to make her feel bad if they could. Of course, now she's screwed up her metabolism so badly that she only has to look at food and gain weight, poor thing.

I agree with this - my sister had anorexia and bulimia, and it was because she had low self- esteem: (we didn't receive alot of positives at home)
I now am more concious of my weight- I am on medication that leads to weight gain and am now in my forties. I am in the healthy weight range, but I FEEL fat because I am used to being a beanpole. I guess my sister and I have afew things in common.

The only way I worry about weight is that I always want to see a higher number on the scale, so long as my bodyfat stays a single digit %. I swing heavy sledge hammers, do planche pushups (a handstand pushup, only the body is horizontal instead of vertical), pinch grip pullups, hit a heavy bag, etc., and I always try to take in over 3,000 calories a day, the more the better, as long as it's not all junkfood

Any guys who want a decent muscle mass (nothing huge though..) and low bodyfat should try a routine something like this.. You'll be deceptively strong and have a good foundation in muscle to enjoy after a few months, and you only need like 30-45 minutes a day to maintain it well. The best part of doing the real-world motions is that you can have half the muscle of a bodybuilder and still wreck them in something like mercy or arm wrestling because your muscles will be used to movements like that, not just the standardized movements made while lifting freeweights. :D

Oh yeah, if anyone has an anorexic/bulimic friend, inform them that starvation drops their metabolism to barely above sea cucumber, and if they promise to eat at least 1,200-1,500 healthy calories a day, then you can promise them them they will lose weight faster than through starvation while maintaining a much better sense of well-being. It sounds kind of generic to say it like that, but if you word yourself right and use facts, then I know from at least one personal experience with a friend that someone will listen and hopefully turn their life around.
