No. I haven't sat down to watch a movie in probably years. I find them just so boring, and a lot of the nuances in endings, like symbolism, are totally lost on me. I just end up checking Wikipedia for an unbiased report of what actually happened. For what it's worth, though, I never "get" symbolism. A cigar is a cigar is a cigar for the most part.

I don't watch TV for the most part either, except if I've found uploads of something interesting online.

I am a usual cinema-fan but I never watch comedy-romance movies and horror movies.

I'm actually not big on movies. I almost never go out to theaters, so I watch them on TV more often. Some are good, but for whatever reason, I usually just don't care for them.

Disclaimer - I am not diagnosed, I'm working toward having an evaluation.

I love film. It is an incredible glorious experience that my mind "participates" in.

Now, obviously my mind isn't going to bother engaging if the film is stupid.

Some of my favorite films:

Waking Life
The Matrix
Lost Highway

I feel very flat almost all the time. Engaging in a film feels like springing into 3D. A huge part of this is to do with the musical component of most films. The music particularly engages my emotion, somehow, but paired with the often philosophical ideas in great films, my cumbersome "self" is swept up and captured by the experience. It's stimulating in a way that transcends my usually "itchy" moment to moment experiences. Does this make sense?

Usually the first thing I do after watching a movie is to go online and find reviews and summaries and discussions about that movie. After reading a bunch of stuff I finally understand what's going on. I can't just leave it, not figuring out the plot or what's going on drive me nuts.

this sounds just like me!
sometimes i feel so stupid for not understanding things.
and the more complex the movie is. . .the more confused i'm left.
while other people understand the plot and find it amazing. . .i'm left having no clue what the heck is going on at all.

i also forget major plots in most movies very quickly.
i can watch a really good movie (iron man for instance). . .and just minutes after it's finished and people want to discuss it, i forget alot of the movie. i have a guy i hang out with sometimes who's a major movie buff. . .and sometimes after i'd watch a movie with him (or tv show) he'd be talking about something that happened in the show, and how he would've done it differently. but i have no idea what he's talking about, and don't remember the parts he's discussing.
i just watched the freaking film. . .why can't i remember this?
it's so frustrating.

so i don't watch films with anyone else anymore.
i do my best to avoid tv as well when i have to be with anyone else (like when i'm at my parents). it just gets too overwhelming.

does anyone else have problems forgetting major parts of movies. . .right after you've watched them?
it doesn't happen to me on all movies. but the only movies i can remember well are movies that have a significant emotional impact on me (white oleander and (lol) wall-e come to mind).

but i do love watching movies, but only if i'm alone. . .that way i don't have to deal with the paranoia of people hating me or thinking i'm stupid when i don't understand the movie, or can't remember most of it.

I like movies. However, most of the friends I used to go watch movies with are no longer around. So now days I generally won't go see a movie unless I'm really anticipating it. Ironman 2 was one of those movies. I recently went to the first showing on opening night. Then out of the blue one of my old movie watching buddies returned from serving in the military over seas 2 days later. So we went to see it together that night. It was really wonderful to get to go see a movie with an old friend. It doesn't happen that often anymore.
