Spending time with my pets at home. It's not exactly fun, but it's relaxing and I enjoy their company.
Getting piercings and researching things about piercings, my latest obsession.
Watching cricket on TV and researching stats about it.
Cooking classes with my grandma and finding new recipes to cook...and eating, I really love food a little too much.

The other day I was chatting on-line with an NT friend. He was telling me about his weekend plans. They involved going to a professional sporting event, and a b-day party for a friend that was from 2 pm-2 am. I exclaimed that that all sounded like torture to me (a 12 hour party!?! eeek!). So, then he asked "Well then, what DO you do for fun?" I kind of drew a blank on what to say. The things that I think are fun, aren't really classified as fun for most people. Being on WP, or any other on-line community where I get to chat about ASD is fun to me. Going to book stores is utopia. I love going on walks. There's more, but that's all that I can think of at the moment.

What do you all do for fun?

Bookstores and second hand record stores are great, getting there is horrible though. I like Forums very much, I have my own Forum to look after and that is fun. (only a small one: 95 members) Listening to music can be fun as well. Although most of the time I spent is in absolute silence 8)

Riding a bike and then recording mileage, speeds, altitude climbs etc in a spreadsheet.

Writing long, rambling, unstructured notes to myself about whatever I happen to currently be obsessing on.

Looking at the same set of websites every morning, rarely changing the specific ones or the order that I view them in.

Reading, usually 3 or 4 books concurrently. Mostly non-fiction on physics, evolution or American history. When it comes to fiction, it's usually, Dickens, Kazuo Ishiguro, T.C. Boyle, Ian McEwan etc. Currently reading "My Bondage and My Freedom" by Frederick Douglass.

Strangely, my creative work such as photography or film making is rarely fun. It's work. But the end result feels so good that I am compelled to do it anyway.

I don't really do fun. I think I'm at least slighty ahedonic. Everything feels like work to me.

Yes, he says he is.

Some of these last posts reminded me... I like to make lists, and sort/organize things. It's fun, and relaxing to me.

I couldn't actually think of much that I do for 'fun' other than watching movies and tv shows that I find funny.

I have a fairly huge list of things that I enjoy, like solo sports, sudoku, reading, sex, studying, traveling oh.......and just being alone.......following people on Twitter (and NOT being on facebook :) )

well, it would seem then that the net effect of his must be veeeerrrryyyy mild. he is so convincingly social and so high functioning, or maybe it is just his genius-level IQ at work, making a convincing show of social functioning and hipness through brute-force brain power.

From: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000101/bio
Quote:
As a child in the early 1960s, he was diagnosed with Tourette's syndrome and Asperger syndrome. The symptoms had mostly subsided by the time he was 14.

The same story repeats on a few different sources, leading me to believe it to be true to what he's said. I do however, find it odd that he's been dxed with something before it was added to the DSM. I think maybe he's substituted the word autism with AS, because that's what it would be known as today. Either way, I don't see why he'd make it up, especially since he doesn't make much of a big deal about it.

One of the things I do to amuse myself sometimes is to 'observe' NTz. :o
