I thought the speech was great. It must have taken him a lot of courage to get up, and speak in front of everybody.

He did a great job. It's wonderful that his parents, teachers and classmates were so supportive--I wish we could see more of that.

I also liked the "instituition" joke. :lol:

I noticed that myself, but I was afraid it would come across as insulting if I said something. And I didn't like the "tard" comment either. "Gay" and "ret*d" are two words I wish would be eliminated from the English language.

Two things to say to you guys:

1) So, was Abraham Lincoln a Jew as well? :roll: As a matter of fact, Judaism and the Jewish people were once one of my obsessional interests. I learned a lot about Judaism and respected Jewish culture.

2) When I use words like gay I am talking about MYSELF, can you not read my posts properly? Can you not comprehend the context? I am NOT talking about you. I am insulting myself.

3) Lay off me please.

It was excellent. Not because of the vocabulary used, as I use such vocabulary every day, but rather the confidence to do so - despite the fear he must have felt. I assume he doesn't really sound like that, and I, myself, believe it was merely fear lessening the impact of his voice. You could hear his heavy breathing, for example, and the fact that he always kept his head down - to avoid both accidentally peering into people's eyes and to avoid getting stage fright.

Well I liked his speach and I'm glad he got the opportunity to show that people with autism can make something of themselves, and that we aren't all doomed like autism speaks would have you believe,

He got more sympathy and help than many aspies do. NTs don't expect as much from full blown autistics and are therefore much more forgiving.

I agree let give Abraham a break he dosent deserve to be downed because of his personal opinion. :!:

I too beleive people with much more seen life altering affects get more sympathy, but thats not my point in this reply. The guy did a great job, well used word play and you know that takes guts to get up there and talk so good for him. :thumleft:
