Hey.... Its a good thing you decided to stay on the forums, but remember, just don't let anything hurtful get to you and I wouldn't take it to heart.

Just be yourself, turn the negative thoughts away and put some positives in you, your definitely on the right planet. :)

There were a few that attacked his character. For example,

That was not attacking "his character" that was just me saying if I had seen all the other posts that this person put up I would not have responded to the "aspies are good liars" rant. All of the posts were "aspies are parasites" and "aspies are lazy"....these have now all been changed and or deleted. Whos character is being attacked here....all of us maybe??? Im sorry but Ive been called names all my life and it bothers me to come here and get more of it. I love a good debate but these posts were attacks and seemed to me to be a desire to provoke others.
DO NOT quote me and say that I am attacking someones character when I did nothing of the sort.

Exactly. You aren't the type of person to attack someone, lilolme. You are a teddy-bear.

We aspies do tend to be argumentative sometimes. It just goes with the territory. I'm really surprised that there aren't a lot of lawyer aspies out there.

Anyhow, I have found that its best to simply understand that the other person is an idiot, totally wrong and will figure this out on his own eventually if I keep my mouth shut. Then I will laugh at him. And if it turns out that he was right, I tend to forget about it.

Note that 'he' above does not refer to any specific person.

Growing up, I got told so many times that I ought to be a lawyer! LOL
And my 7th grade math teacher told me I was argumentative . . . and I even argued with that! "I can't be argumentative! I don't even know what that word means!" heh.

A few people told me I'd be a very good lawyer and I should be one since I love to argue and am good at it.

I hate to argue, but as a kid it killed me to let people go around saying untrue or half-true things without correcting them.

I argue a lot less now that I've finally learned to let it go and just let people be ignorant if that's what they want. Arguing gives me a stomach ache and I'm rarely good enough at it to get someone else to admit that I might have a point, so I'm glad that I've learned to back away from it a lot more now than when I was a kid.

Sometimes people are too stupid to listen and get it so I have to decide is it really worth arguing with this idiot? So I told someone I don't wish to continue the conversation nor have future ones with him because it feels like I am talking to a brick wall.

I work now and I don't need to spend my free time making a long PM to someone defending myself wasting my own time when I am just talking to a brick wall.

I think the problem that some people had with Decepticon's posts/topics was that many of those posts/topics seemed intent on vilifying people with AS. On top of that he was seemingly getting frustrated/annoyed when people weren't agreeing with his view point, and was being somewhat snarky with those who questioned his motives. In other words his general approach was very antagonistic to start with, and that doesn't lend itself well to civilized discussion.

The above is just my interpretation of the events that lead to Decepticon deciding he should leave, and why some posters might've viewed him as exhibiting "troll" behavior.

I haven't been playing Sims 3 lately, but he is a toddler now. I built a room for him too because he kept waking the parents up by his crying.

I din't say all aspies are good liars - I had said some are. This was all in relation to the story about a aspie who was arrested. I questioned if he was lying, period. I believe your retorted by saying aspies cannot be liars because...you had some belief or another.

I never said aspies are parasites either - my post was about if some aspies use their caregivers, do they live a parasitic lifestyle. It was a question I wanted to learn about. If some aspies felt a sense of entitlement to be looked after.

I never said all aspies are lazy. My post was if people with retardation can work, does that make an aspie who's unemployed lazy, including myself.

These posts were later deleted by myself because I felt I had upset some people in my handling of their answers and some had difficulty with the questions I posed. I felt I should leave.

I realize now I should have not given up here and went forward despite some feelings of others. Actually, my only apology is that I could have dealt with some of the answers to my questions better.

I'll stay and pose questions I am curious about and those who don't want to bother in the conversation won't.
