When WALL-E first came out, I went to see it with a group of people (my bf, his roommate at the time and some of their friends). I ended up liking it a lot more than I expected to. Now it's still one of my favorites.
What else? Sometimes I go on YouTube and track down cartoons I used to like: Darkwing Duck, TaleSpin, Chip 'n' Dale's Rescue Rangers, Ducktales, Animaniacs, Tiny Toons (if I can find them).
I also found So Weird on YouTube and spent several hours one night (very late) getting re-acquainted.
IMO, a lot of kids today are "growing up" (but not learning how to be truly mature adults) way too fast and learning early that stuff aimed at little kids is "for babies," even if they still ARE "little kids" and start watching shows that should be "adults-only" (e.g., many of the reality shows out there).
My parents never censored anything when I was growing up, but did watch stuff with me if they thought it might be necessary to talk about it with me afterwards.
What Exclavius said made perfect sense. Maybe we should all slow down and retain the ability to "imagine" and "question" a bit longer. Maybe we'd become better "adults" in the long run if we did.
