I am rubbish at weddings. Can't see the point, can't stand the noise, and even that I am not greedy by nature I don't see why waste all that money considering that there's a very high risk that after only an year the couple might not be together.
I have done a number of social faux pas related to weddings, starting from reciting the abovementioned stats to the happy couple to avoiding the tradition of congratulating the newlyweds (because this usually involves a kiss and a handshake) to whipping out a laptop at the reception and immersing myself into the depths of the Internet while everybody else toasts the bride. Thanks God, people don't invite me to weddings anymore and that's a great relief.
