Er not really. I just don't like people who put up decorations and then answer the door and say 'sorry no trick or treaters'. And people who egg houses or are a nuisance.
I have trick or treated every year since I was six and I am 14 now- still love it! Though I am becoming increasingly nervous when someone answers the door- social interaction much!

We pass out candy so the teens wont egg our house, but I do not like costumes. I have only dressed up a handful of times in my life. If I wanted candy as a child, I'd just reach in the bowl and take what i wanted.

So American Halloween is taking over the world?

Yes, apparently..... 8O
I didn't realize it wasn't worldwide. I mean, All Saint's Day is a Catholic thing, and that exists wherever Christianity does; so you'd assume that Halloween would be pretty prevalent too...

We do have All Saint's Day (or Sunday, 1st Sunday of November, ie. tomorrow :) ) in Denmark too, as a special day in the church. But the American Halloween tradition with pumpkins, trick or treat, dressing up and such, hasn't been a tradition in Denmark for more than a few years.
In the church the pastors use to mention the names of the people who passed away / were buried in the parish during the year. Many places people can also light a candle, if they want to.

I only trick-or-treated for a few years, and I didn't put much effort into it. My family's not big on Halloween, we're very low-key about holidays in general. I don't have much of a sweet tooth, anyway, so free candy just wasn't worth walking around in the cold. My Asperger's didn't have anything to do with it. Approaching people's houses didn't bother me, because there was a simple script and I was always with my sister or friends.

I didn't do it because I was terrified of people. I think I did it once with my sisters, in a really bad neighbourhood.

Halloween was always my favorate holliday because I could hide behind a mask or dress up in a costume and pretend to be someone else for the day. I won a few halloween costume contests. My costumes were always very creative and usually made or put together with what I had. I did not buy the prefab costumes. My favorate one was either being a gypsy or a ghost of a princess. I quit when I was in my early 20's, but still like to dress up. I did not this year cuz money was tight and there was nothing going on but a halloween orchristra and I dont really like halloween music...very dischordant.

I trick-or-treated until I was 10, but I would only go to a few very specific houses. The house across from mine had decorations that kept getting more frightening every year. I was forced to visit them one year and I had what I now know was a panic attack. There were strobe lights and this guy jumped out at me and made me cry. I decided to dress up and hand out candy at my house after that. Though, I wasn't very good at that either. I also always thought "What are you supposed to be?" was incredibly rude.

Autism be damned, gorillas armed with baseball bats could not have kept me from trick or treating when I was a kid. :P We would sometimess put on previous halloween costumes and go again if they still fit us. 8)
