I noticed that the bouncing kid seems to be blocked, but the pill spitting girl isn't. She now shows up for practically every ad, I guess to compensate for the lack of the bouncing boy. She's less objectionable than the bouncing boy, but she's still kinda gross. And yes, in the UK pharmaceutical advertising is illegal, so UK WPers will find different ads when Americans see drug ads.

UKers would be stunned to learn how easy it is to get a doctor here in the US to prescribe any medication you want. Just go in and demand it. If one doc doesn't give it to you, go somewhere else. "Doctor shopping" is prevalent here, and the practice of serving pharma addicts is so profitable that the govt refuses to step in. If any of you wonder how Lindsay Lohan can get Dilaudid, or Heath Ledger could get all the sleeping pills and muscle relaxers he had, or how Anna Nicole can get prescribed a pharmacy's worth of legal dope, that's how.

Although Anna Nicole had corrupt docs assisting her. Brittany Murphy had 10 different drugs when she died. Stars frequently get prescribed pills under false names. The whole racket is SO profitable that the drug industry really DOESN'T want national health care, and had to be bribed by Obama to support the "ObamaCare" system, where people are FORCED to buy health insurance or pay a tax penalty.

At least you have a respectable building trade, but probably less important in the grand scheme of things. I think prescriptions are pretty tight here in Britain, I'm not aware of any foul play but they're still complicit in making you take a drug when what they should really be telling you is take carrot juice or vitamins whatever is the simplist way. It's always take these asthma drugs for your whole life, rather than sending you on a breathing course to fix it, or better yet EFT.

To fix ad block plus you probably need to add a blocklist. Don't add to many but visit this link and add a few of the main ones and you should see fewer advertisements:

Adblockplus blocklists

Just hit the subscribe buttons, more blocklists slows it down so just add the main ones. Hope this helps.

A tangent, but very important - if everyone here installs Adblock etc, then the site gets zero revenue from advertising, which is bad for the site.

If you want to use Adblock and still want to maximize revenue, then be sure to direct friends, relatives and blog readers to this site. Create links on your websites, blogs and profiles that link to stories on this website (especially the human-interest stuff like self-tests).

Every click on those links is another ad-read and an increase in revenue for Wrong Planet.

Use AdBlock Plus, I use this all the time to get rid of those pesky adverts, half of the times they don't even bother me anymore. :)

For anyone who uses Internet Explorer or who doesn't want Alex to lose revenue for Wrong Planet by blocking the advert I've made an alternative. A simple resizeable program window that acts like a bit of sticky paper you can place over the top of the annoying advert to hide it.

I can email a copy of the tiny program to anyone who wants a copy. It will work on Windows XP, Vista and should work on Windows 7 too. There is no installer. Simply run the program and drag the window over the top of the offending adverts. Send me a PM with your email address if you want a copy of the program. It is free.

I got the idea from Leejosepho who has stuck a bit of paper to his screen to hide the annoying advert!

... and it works perfectly and you can make it any size you wish and even change its background color.
