"Normal people"?
From where I stand, I am normal, it's the rest of the world that is screwed up putting major emphasis on not rocking the boat, and the boat is filled with bigotry, lies, millions of crimes against women that go unmentioned while society concentrates on politics, nascar, and tv shows (female circumcism is still performed on millions of females every year).
As far as intelligence, any group has a range. I do believe that the noticing of patterns can sometimes assist in understanding things, (a trait more prevalent in people on the spectrum), or maybe I just noticed that pattern, hmmmmmm

It depends on what you consider intelligence to be. I not only taught myself math all the way from pre-algebra to pre-calculus, but I also understand it and can easily apply it to real life situations. However, I can hardly write an essay analyzing the effects of symbolism in a novel without paraphrasing something off of the internet.

I think the whole concept of intelligence is ret*d (no oxymoron intended).

No, people with AS don't necessarily have higher IQ's than the general population. However, aspies might be better at one specific thing relating to their special interest.

Aspies inherently have average to above average intelligence. But only about 10% of aspies are geniuses or savants. Many are more knowledgeable in certain areas though

Not to mention all the lies, manipulation and lack of personal repsonsibility and accountability. NT's just can't accept anyone who is different. Still unbelievable the crap they've put homosexuals through.
A lot of NT's digust me

I'm pretty sure 10% is a lot higher than the general population.

All NTs I know seem to know a lot more than me. They seem to know how to add things up in their head, whereas I can't.

By "add things up", do you mean as in arithmetic, going around the store with a shopping cart picking up groceries, and knowing how much money you need to have before you get to the register, or do you mean putting together two or more facts to come to a logical conclusion about what is happening?

I was marked as a genius and "gifted" as a child. I have a genius-level IQ. My IQ probably masked many of my shortcomings.

Well to this day I still can't make out how I was put in the lowest maths class at high school (along with a few other kids with some sort of learning difficulties), and the rest of the yeargroup (about 200 NTs) were all put in the higher maths classes. (Well, I do know why, it's because I'm no good at maths, but to get this thread right, all NTs should have been in the lowest maths class and I should have been in the highest maths class).

And if I'm supposed to be more cleverer than NTs, then how come I needed extra help on all of my work all through school in order for me to catch up with the rest of the class?

And at Infant's school all the other girls in my class were on higher level reading than me.

They just see the world differently, thus, find logic, philosophy, mathematics, and music easier to understand. However, when it comes to illogical things such as the language arts they find it difficult.

That isn't a matter of raw intelligence, it's a matter of having learned how to do it earlier than you did.

Also, your intelligence may be focused in other areas than computer skills, musical, for example, or visual. Aspies are really great on focus, so much that we might test as "ret*d' or "low IQ" in other areas than our Special Interests.

we are by definition average to above average intelligence right?
find the average in there; in broad terms it's slightly above average.
so there's your answer.

I would say that it isn't always the case. I'm not the smartest person in all honesty when it comes to certain subjects (math, science, physics, etc) but when it comes to others I seem to outshine neurotypicals (computers, English, history).

It all comes down to the person, not whether they have Asperger's or not, I believe.
