Functioning socially is the most difficult aspect for me. I've gotten to where I don't see anyone except my four friends and my family. I feel trapped inside the house with nowhere to go. I think I might even be able to manage some small part time job if I could deal with people a little better. Anxiety is a big one too, but I think if I were better at being social I would have less anxiety to begin with.

I selected the sensory/being overstimulated option. I get so overstimulated by noise and sounds and I wish I was able to handle it better. This world is definitely ruled by NT's.

I would rather be tourtured to death than give up my obsessions and special intrests. Anxiety has protected me from danger and my rigidity has made me who I am today and taught me to go for my dreams and ignore stupid people who tell me I shouldn't even try to pursue them. I can't really think of anything except the stigma of being autistic and having to be a scape goat and whipping girl most of my life.

Social difficulties, for sure. I haven't a wide social circle of friends, and I have never had a girlfriend.

No executive dysfunction would make you very less likely to be AS. It's an under connectivity in the frontal lobe. You would be less obsessive and emotionally overwhelmed and not need the need for repetition. You might even have better social skills.

I'm thinking about this way too literally, aren't I?

Well I'm just saying if you don't want to be cured of your AS then your frontal lobes need to stay disorganised.

I would choose to get rid of my anxieties... (And related sleep problems). It was a tough decision between that and my stereotyped motor mannerisms (which include constantly picking at the skin on my scalp and face...as well as ripping paper and twirling in front of my face ...I've destroyed a lot of trees lately  ).
I am not sure I still meet the criteria for AS in terms of the severity of my social issues (although I certainly did when I was diagnosed)……

I wish I could get rid of my social dysfunction. I want to be one of those socially-adequate, intelligent NTs. I know they exist.
