It's a brand of cough medicine sold in the United States. It contains some alcohol in the ingredients so drinking enough would have the effect of say, having several cocktails.

so what's the point then? Why not just drink several cocktails?

Hehehe - exactly. I do!

As far as i can tell the only dangers of using it include minor short term memory lose with HEAVY use. I swear, use about 3 times the adult dose before going anywhere and you'll be talking to people and feeling relaxed. I suggest cough and cold including chlorpheniramine, dextromethorphan, and psudoephedrine in it. That one tastes the best. And it contains and anti-histamine which takes the edge off the speed effect. Be sure to plan out your day, because if you take it, you will not sleep for roughly 8-10 hours after taking it. And you wont be hungry.

You do relise alot of people here are on medication? That could clash with it.

I don't know why you're bothering with abusing cough medicine when alcohol is cheaper and more readily available for the same effect.

Alcohol doesn't have quite the same effect as cough medicine. And yes, of course, anyone who is on medication should be careful of taking other things, even over-the-counter stuff.

I agree with those who are saying, take a class, join a club, or find some gathering of people who share one of your special interests or obsessions. If your first attempt doesn't work out, try a gathering related to a different interest. I recently forced myself to enroll in a class. I wept, wailed, and gnashed my teeth in between the enrolling and the start of class. My hair was falling out in handfulls from the stress. I nearly dissolved into panic the first few days at class. Later, all of a sudden, I realized that I had been greeting my classmates with a smile, and even engaging in breif conversations with them from time to time, without experiencing any of my usual social anguish. We're sharing an experience related to a shared interest, and that makes being with these people fairly easy, so this is turning out to be a more positive social experience than I have had in a very (very, very) long time.

I just try to be social in my own ways, realizing that trying to do it like most people is like banging my head up against a brick wall. Sure, i've learned to small talk at parties but I still don't feel comfortable most times. I like to talk one on one with people and for some reason I feel less overwhelmed in dark areas. The internet is probably the best place. I meet some people from online in person and if it doesn't work out then I simply don't care anymore.

My luck with women is absolutely pitiful but when I open up to a couple girl-FRIENDS about some of my concepts of life, they say that I would have no problem finding someone. They simply say that most people would give anything to be able to see the world like I do. That is quite reassuring and pleasant to hear but my luck is still crap. The typical "you'll find someone" is getting old. I'm 25 years old, have had one girlfriend that was a very very weak relationship, a couple flings and thats it. All in all, i'm talking to more girls lately and I simply don't care if they are too ignorant or stupid. I just go on looking for others. It doesn't really bug me much anymore.

If I had to say anything to you people it would be to STOP trying to play on pop culture social rules. Do what you feel comfortable with and start by socializing on YOUR own level. It is nice to learn a few of the 'NT' tricks but you don't need to necessarily start with them. DOn't feel guilty when someone 'doesn't get you'. It's going to happen so expect it. There are good, understanding people out there. They are few and far between but they are out there.
