I liked stuffed animals alot, in fact I never really gave them up. Usually cats, but also bears, dogs, squirrels, bunny's, etc. I didn't have an attachment to much else. I think its a weird part of childhood that stuck with me.

Maybe that's just been my personal observation then. I know of 3 girls that often carry a sonic the hedgehog character with them. But it's not the norm I see.

I didn't have human dolls...or at least keep them long. Someone gave me one of those dolls whose eyes open and shut depending on how it's held and I was literally scared of it. I had a lot of stuffed animals, and I brought them with me places a lot.

I don't see how that's an aspie thing or a girl thing, lots of kids (male and female) carry certain toys around with them. Whether it's a doll or not.

I have a little stuffed dolphin named Dory that I carry around in my pocket, purse, or backpack...I don't really take her out, tho, or draw any sort of attention to her. In the past, I did that sort of thing with stuffed animals all the time, but as I got older, I tried to keep it a secret....I think only my dad and stepmom know about it.

Also, when I travel, I like to take this little die cast model of a Disney Car character called "Susie the Little Blue Coupe" with me...Susie dates back to the mid - to - late 70s, I think, and her eyes are papery stickers glued to her windshield, making them very fragile, so I don't take her with me absolutely everywhere - just when I'm travelling or going someplace where I think I might need her. :D

I used to store Susie in a little drawstring pouch used for carrying sunglasses, but I lost that, and since then Susie's sustained some "eye damage" during our travels....it makes me cry if I think too much about it. How could I have been so stupid as to lose her cozy little bag? Luckily, a friend of mine recommended touching up her eyes with some enamel paints. :D

I was never one for dolls. I had loads of stuffed animals though and still do. I am 32 yrs. old but I still love going into toy stores and hugging and petting all of the stuffed animals whilst making squee-ing noises.

When I was real little I had a blanket that I carried everywhere that my mother says I called "Fave" (ie. Favorite) ;)

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I was never really into dolls, myself - as in, Barbies and Bratz. However, I liked soft, friendly - looking cloth dolls, like Raggedy Anne and Andy. I also had a Precious Moments doll that I received for my christening, a knockoff Cabbage Patch doll, and I also have a vintage 1960s Kewpie doll that used to belong to my aunt. :D

I actually had several Barbies as a kid, but never really became attached to them...the only Barbies I was attached to were my Barbies of Anastasia and Dimitri from the movie "Anastasia." :)

I never really liked human baby dolls and I always preferred Barbie dolls, but omg I LOOOOOVE stuffed animals :D I had a hundred or so as a child and I kept many of them as I grew up. My parents never truly understood why I refused to donate the toys to orphanages or the red cross.. I just wanted to keep them because I love them so much.

I have a small plush zebra I carry around all the time (it also sits next to me in planes or in the train) and a huge collection of small pocket-size plushies that put everywhere in my room and on my desk at work.

My oldest plushie is a dog the old couple who lived downstairs in the building I grew up in gave me when I was 3 years old. They made it themselves and it used to look really fancy. haha, now it is 25 years old and had to be fixed so many times. At times its tail and ear would fall off because I cuddled it so much and my grandpa had to give it plastic surgery :D

As long as I remember I was always very attached to stuffed animals... I remember that I had a yellow stuffed duck when I was little that I carried around everywhere I went. Once my grandparents took me on a day trip in the car and we left very early, so I was still asleep. They carried me sleeping into the car and started to drive. I woke up a few minutes later desperately looking for my duck.. i didn't care where I was or where we were going I just wanted my duck! In the end my grandpa had to pull over and go back because I wouldn't stop begging for my duck T_T

I also don't think that carrying around certain objects necessarily has to be an Aspie thing (in fact I see soooo many people here carrying huge teddy bears around all the time) but the level of affection I have towards my stuffed animals.. that is not very likely to be found in NT people. At least I don't know anybody from the NT world that is my age and still has a dozen stuffed animals sitting on their bed.

I never liked dolls when I was little I used to play with cars instead I had a nice dark blue volkswagon, I had a green stuffed cat that I called green fluffy the stuffing came out of it but my nanna put some more in it and sewed it up for me.

I was given a baby doll but I didn't like it all that much I think Mum gave it to me because my sister had one and she thought I would be upset.

I have stuffed toys but I just put them on my bed after I make it.

I see a lot of small kids carrying dolls, I don't think they're all Aspies.
I always carried my favourite teddy bear around with me right up until I was about 6 or 7. Then I used to take him to any sleep-overs I had, right up until I was about 13.

My daughter always has to take toy with her everywhere, never a doll, however. It's usually either a stuffed animal, a Transformer or a stretchy skeleton/spider/frog. Here's a few that she took on holiday last year. She could select a different one each day (very favourite on the top).

Aww, those are cute! I see Nemo, Simba, and Nala. :) I like Disney plush, too.

I have a stuffed bat that I've taken with me on every camping trip I've ever been on. I go camping, Bob goes with me. That's just the way it is.

Like most of the people who replied on this thread, I wasn't much for 'dolls' (the human kind), but did love stuffed animals, and still do!

When I was younger, I'd carry around my Teddy Ruxpin, who I guess is a doll/stuffed animal hybrid, and would particularly take him places where I would worry about anxiety, like the doctor's or dentist's office. Teddy would go with me on every doctor/dentist trip, as he helped me to feel 'brave.'

Up until about 2 years ago (I'm just about 26), I had a collection of about 25-30 stuffed penguins, all of which I kept on a special shelf in my room. Unfortunately, my DVD/Blu-Ray collection got too big, and I needed the shelf for my movies, and reluctantly placed all of my penguins in a plastic bin.

I still enjoy stuffed animals, but the only ones I've kept in my room are a stuffed Michael Myers (from Halloween), E.T. and Michelangeo, the Ninja Turtle. I'll have a new addition soon, though, as my boyfriend just bought me the stuffed Ebola microbe I always wanted! :P

It's a case of "which planet" not "wrong planet" - where are you seeing all these aspie girls? With dolls, no less!
