Currently it is Stargate, so I chose fiction.
Usually it's Stargate, Doctor Who, physics, Astronomy, neurology and autism/ADHD (so I guess medical stuff). I have some interest in history and video games though. Not enough to be counted as a special interest. Art and photography are more a part of my skills and I use them whenever necessary, or bored.

Most of my major obsessions throughout the years have centered around fiction.

Currently I'm into the movies of Tim Burton. My absolute favorites are Edward Scissorhands, Sweeney Todd, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Alice in Wonderland. Alice in Wonderland has been my biggest obsession since it came out last year.

I checked Other. My interests seem very personal to me. I don't want to post something that in my mind feels like an ID number, but I also want to talk about them so it's hard to refrain from doing so in these threads.

Yeah, I hate that feeling. Usually with skills, though.

My major special interest is in computers. I've been fascinated by them for as long as I've been alive (I was born in 1992, and I remember being excited about the release of Windows 95). Currently, I have an obsession with abstract structures and their emergent properties.

My much less productive interest is video games. I can honestly say that I completed the pokedex in gold version without using a cheating device (except for Mew and Celebi, but I bought the Gameshark when I had 249 pokemon). Just a few weeks ago, I created a mathematical model of combat in World of Warcraft, specifically for Paladins, so that I could find equivalences in equipment stats and find the optimal sequence of abilities for highest DPS for retribution, HPS for holy, and survivability index (calculated using mean damage reduction and hit points) for protection.

I picked other.

My interests include but are not limited to:

Cats, animals in general, fiction (books and worlds there in), misc. fantasy worlds made by others or myself, drawing, role playing online, reading books, reading web comics, reading forums, lurking on forums, and more stuff I don't want to type right now.

This space saved for possible further monologue-ing, maybe, when it's not so late and I have fewer deadlines to meet for school and things.

Brilliant poll idea! :D I voted for "medicine/neurology/psychology," because I'm a neuroscientist, and anatomy/physiology is my longest-lasting special interest. I've been into the human body since age 3. Most of my special interests are of the TV show/movie variety, though, but I wasn't sure if "fictional work" encompassed those or just books/plays. So, that's another reason I didn't vote for that option.

TV shows are indeed fictional, as are manga, manhwa, newspaper comics, movies, RPGs, unwritten oral traditions (so long as they're fictional), songs with plots (such as ballads)... anything fiction. That's why I said "work," not "book." :D

Yeah, I figured that's what you meant, but I wasn't sure. lol I still think I should pick "medical/psychology" rather than TV shows/movies, just for the sole fact that science is my lifelong passion. It also was one of my very first special interests. But just for clarification, my most intense special interest is I Love Lucy, which falls under the fiction realm.

As I've said mine is definitely neurology/psychology related right now....

but those are some of the best movies of all time! I've seen Edward Sissorhands over 20 times........but I didn't like the remake of Charlie and the chocolate factory...it was not as good as the original. Nightmare before christmas is still my favorite......I haven't seen these movies (or any movie) in a while though.......
