I have no desire to conquer the Universe, but I will certainly like to have my own fleet of overpowerful spaceships.

Sadly my computer don't allow me to visit it. :(

I thought about it. but then I realized, I don't want to rule the world. It would be a lot of work and people have a way of ruining every plan, no matter how simple or benign it may be so ruling them would suck beyond the telling of it. Now if you're talking destroying the universe, yeah, ok, some quality nihilism sounds like it would involve much less paperwork and managing.

The entire desire to conquer anything is totally foreign to me. I can't comprehend it, not even a little bit. It's one of humanity's more unfortunate impulses. If I did for some reason have the desire to conquer anything at all (not even the world or the universe), I would work really hard on ridding myself of that desire, or at the very least not acting upon it. Too many people suffer terribly when they are conquered. And at extremes... I'm from the USA and every day I can almost feel the too-recent genocide that allowed people to conquer where I live, it's terrible.

Ditto. Science fiction is fun to read, but fantasizing about living it just gives me a headache. I would enjoy jumping ahead 100 years at a time and seeing how this experiment that is humanity turns out, but I have no desire to do anything except watch and learn. Hurting people isn't my thing.

Hurting people? Although warfare is probably inevitable, most of the conquest of the universe would simply involve locating terraformable planets, terraforming them while developing economic infrastructure above the planet to ensure that the colony remains a spacefaring civilization, and then colonizing the planet below.

Conquer the universe? Universe?

Why?

When I read the thread title I thought perhaps that you meant that regarding knowledge of all things. To be capable of performing all tasks. But you're thinking of something like ruling over a vast empire.

Nobody needs to be ruled and certainly not on that scale. You'd gain nothing but derision.

Actually, I don't care so much about ruling anything. Conquering the universe would be fun in and of itself.

But I do want to make it better. And if you want something to be done right, you gotta do it YOURSELF.
So, choiselessly, I do. :?

First, you need to just work on your chores and they'll be done before you know it. Secondly, you need to amass a humongous intergalactic battlefleet. Third, conquer the universe.
