I've officially given up on people as of this year. I've had enough. The things and so-called friends I dealt with in college became the tip of the iceberg for me. Being forced into mediocre jobs I had no will or interest or capability in only to get fired anyway helped that along. I don't even care that both my credit and my job hire ability are wrecked for life. Why would I want to keep putting myself in the same cycle again and again anyway? I'd rather be self sufficient than have to deal with people. I hate going out in public now because some random stranger is going to mock my quietness, stuttering, or facial expression. It happens just about once a week everytime I go out. What is the point, I tell you.

I know what you mean. I put on blinders so I don't even see people anymore. I have trained myself to be oblivious, so if they want to be a smart ass, I won't notice it.
I like going to restaurants because the waitstaff are so nice. It's the only place on earth where people are friendly and nice that I've found and it's only because gas prices have gone up again and they need the business so they are super competitive with the customer service. Basically, they are being nice because they want a paycheck. Whatever the reason, it's still refreshing to experience once in a while.
