Why would you answer as a child? Seems to completely void the Resolved option.

Because it's made for children. Because I like to see the differences in my symptoms between when I was a child and an adult.
Or maybe because I just wanted to.

I apologize if I offended you, but I just did not understand such a thing because the Resolved option implies that the test is a test of current functioning level. Sorry.

Didn't resolved mean the child has outgrown that difficulty or no longer has that trait?

Anyway I put no for lack of pretend play and stuff because I have always done pretend play even though it was below the age level at the time. I just got better at it as I got older so maybe I should have put resolved but No seemed more appropriate, plus it didn't seem to fit in with mild moderate or severe of how I did it.

41. I think one of the problems with the rating is that I never had problems with language... beyond my inability to this day to distinguish between double consonants in speech, and that I didn't throw tantrums or act out. So to me, it's just another test that focuses on the squeaky wheel getting the grease and the non-squeaky wheels who learned early on to suffer in silence just being dismissed.

I got 146 and 144 for my kids. No wonder they got the same diagnosis. They're very different, though and share little common problems.

I did it relating to my son and I had 69 (mild PDD...)
I don't agree. It seems severe to me. He is 3.5 yo and has a severe problem with language, even if he has not behavioural issues. He's a "sociable" boy and he has friends at school. I can't figure out how can he make friends, but he does... He is very cuddly with me also.
Language should have more weight, I think.

It seemed overly focused on language delay without any acknowledgment that hyperlexia is not necessarily an appropriate use of language.

65, mild PDD.

Makes sense, but I'm able to control most of the things to some degree. The only traits above mild were inappropriate laughter/crying (I laugh when I'm stressed or nervous) and inappropriately anxious/scared (I was diagnosed with anxiety disorder NOS with some paranoid traits).

I can hardly read the tiny little blue font.

Just wanted to make a comment on how I tried to take the test, but couldn't because the blue little font was not easy to read

LOL. Exactly. I keep thinking I'm really on the mild end of the spectrum, then I take a reality brick in the face that lets me know otherwise. I am soooo outside the norm on social awareness. I have lived in my own world and not even known I was doing it.

Use control and + and it'll increase text size. You can keep doing it until it's readable.

Exactly, if anything I went in the opposite direction, no language delay at all and sounding more like an adult if anything.

The one question that kind of bugged me was not responding to people calling out for you. I didn't respond to anyone saying my name to me over a certain volume for some period and still don't unless I recognize the voice or I'm meeting someone at a place. It has nothing to do with autism, well, I guess it kind of did in a sense. What I mean is the direct cause of me stopping to respond to people calling my name was that the only people who did that were my bullies, trying to get my attention so they could then yell insults at me when they encountered me downtown or in public venues where they couldn't use physical violence against me. To this day the worst thing you can do to get my attention is to yell my name. Texting me, calling me, going up to me and touching my arm or going 'what up geek' or 'hey you' all works better than calling my name. I'd sooner respond to any one of my internet handles in fact. No one's ever used them to get my attention so they could yell at me I was a worthless c***t who deserved to die and they were gonna do that tomorrow.

It's still of course anyway unknown as to what common autistic traits are actually innate, and what ones are from bullying and other effects of living in a society that is actively hostile to us. Few to no people live in situations where "pure" autism can be observed.
